Customizing DVD Menus in Toast 18 Pro on a Mac

I'm using Toast 17, but should be the same as Toast 18. Try this. 1. Open Toast. 2. Click on video tab in the top center. 3. Click on the options tab in the top right corner 4. Select the format tab under format and select the format you want. 5. Under menu style, select customize 6. Select the menu tab in the top center. 7. that will open a window that shows the image of an image. 8. Drag and drop the Photoshop image you want on top of the current image. That show show the image you want. 9. Be sure you type in the menu title you want. The default is my movie. 10. Click OK which will bring you back to the main Toast window. Proceed as usual. If this does not work Then contact tech support directly. Tech support does not monitor these support group posts. Good

Customizing DVD Menus in Toast 18 Pro on a Mac

My guess is that you have come across one of the limitations of toast. I have been using toast for many years. Over all these years there have been comments from users that they want much more freedom to create personally created menus rather than the ones provide by the app. Being able to have animations and much feature rich menus is what has been commented on. For what ever reasons, Roxio has not enabled that kind of feature. Hope you find an app that allows for that and includes the features in toast as well.

disappointing Go64 report for Toast 18.1

Yes, Toast 18 is 64 bit and is compatible. BUT, the BR plugin IS NOT. It is 32bit. So creating and burning a BR disc may be impaired.

    Toast just keeps crashing

What OS are you running? I've read where Toast does not play friendly with Mojave and vise versa.

Here is what I read: In order to make Toast DVD Menu styles you must have Adobe PhotoShop 8.x or higher installed on your MAC. The Menu styles support unique backgrounds at menu and sub-menu level, custom button sizes, shapes, numbers, and placement, and custom font types. Each menu style is based on a multi-layer Photoshop file. To design a new menu style, simply edit the layers in the PSD file. The Toast compositing engine automatically generates the menus using the PSD file template and inserts the appropriate user entered text and button graphics at burn time. Toast 8 and higher Choose the Video Menu option in Toast and then select DVD. Click on the More button in the bottom left corner. Click on the Menu tab in the widow. Drag and drop any photo file onto the preview picture of the menu. I am using toast 17. My steps: 1. Open toast 2. Select video 3. Under format select DVD video, HD DVD video, Blue ray video 4. Under options/video select DVD video if not already selected 5. Below menu style select customize 6. A window will open, either drag/drop the template you created in PS in the image area or click on select and go to where the file is located and select it. 7. That should allow you to use the customized menu. Hope this helps Bob

    Toast 18

Here is the link: https://www.roxio.com/en/products/toast/#overview What I can't find is what are the differences between version 17 and 18. Does not appear to be much. The "new" in version 18 is not anything I miss or even know much about. Check it out.

    Toast 17.1 Download.

What I did, and it worked: I had version 17.0, opened the app, went to the help tab selected check for update, a window opens saying that there is an update to 17.2 with a basic list of changes. I downloaded it, and it now is 17.2 and works. I am using 10.13.6.

Here it is. For all those who are concerned about Roxio not supporting the future of Toast. 64 BIT!!! So it will be ready for OS Mohave! There is a standard upgrade of $50 off the standard pricing. If you want the Pro version, you'll need to get the Blue Ray plugin. Here is the link. https://www.roxio.com/en/products/toast/pro/
