  1. If I remember, toast version 9 had a separate hd plugin that you could purchase and download and it only works with version 9. The HD/BD plugin for toast 10 is only available if you purchased the pro version of toast 10. That plugin is part of the installer and is in a separate folder called pro apps and includes the other apps that were part of toast 10 pro. Oops, I stand corrected. here is the link to purchase the plugin: http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/toast/plugin/overview.html Tsantee is most probably correct about what the current version is.

ALL CDSD Users - REQUIRED READING!

Check out this post: http://www.macworld.com/article/144769/200...spindoctor.html I only wish that either Roxio or the people who publish CDSD would fix all this stuff!!

ALL CDSD Users - REQUIRED READING!

I sure hope that when they fix it for 10.6.2 users, it also fixes it for 10.5.8 for BOTH PPC as well as intel Mac machines. For whatever reason, I get the feeling that fixes seem to apply to intel macs. I really wonder what resources are put to keep the PPC platform supported. I see that the post indicates that this was introduced in a change to 10.6.2 but that other versions are unaffected. I get the same problems with 10.5.8 on a PPC both PM G5 and PB G4. Another reason I an suspicious about PPC support even though PPC is supported with 10.5.x

ALL CDSD Users - REQUIRED READING!

I was not aware of this, it is posted here: http://www.deepseasoftware.com/support/ Note the comment under the ad for Roxio. Based on this I can only understand that any and all issues we Toast users have with CDSD must be answered by Roxio. I just know know why tech support does not respond.

THANKS FOR NOT TELLING ME THE UPDATE WASN'T COMPATIBLE WITH TIGER

Keep in mind that the operative term is "supported". An app may or may not work on a given OS, but that doesn't mean that it is supported by the s/w company, in this case Roxio. How many times do we find that an Apple app, say iLife seems to "work" with a given OS, but Apple does not support it. The same holds true with a given computer with ram, graphics card, processor, etc and an OS. The requirements may call for an intel mac and OS 10.5.8 but thru some quirk work on something else. Its' like swimming w/o a lifeguard on duty. You do so at your own risk and on borrowed time. I like my PPC macs, but the latest version of Popcorn calls for an intel mac with either 10.5.8 and snow leopard. My guess is that the next version of Toast may well do the same. If so then all us PPC users will not be using the latest and greatest version of Toast.

Problems Using web video and Popcorn 4

I have found this using 10.0.2, .3 and .4. I'm using a MBP with 10.5.8 and all updates. Here is what I do. Open Popcorn 4, open media browser, select web video, select video files, go to my web browser, select a utube video, click play, the video starts playing and it does show up in the Popcorn 4 media browser. All is fine. I can edit, etc, save to my hd and reopen in QT. All is fine. Now if I go back to Popcorn and delete the video clip that is in the media browser, then go back to my web browser and click on the same utube video, then go back to Popcorn 4, it does not show up in the media browser. If I select another video, all works fine. It's only when I select the same video that I previously recorded and then deleted that it will not do another recordring of the same video clip. What is causing this? It appears to me that somehow Popcorn 4 will not record something that has been recorded, then deleted. Thanks,

    Web Video Issues

I hav alo tried this with Popcorn 4 and the same thing happens. I think you're right about there being a file somewhere that makes toast and popcorn think that the file is still resident. I'm going to post this on the Popcorn 4 forum as well.

    Web Video Issues

Thanks, did you try it and get the same result? I did send a pm to Patrick referencing this post in the hopes that he can find a solution or at least where in file info is stored so that it can be deleted. I find that there are times that I need to d/l and convert the same video after I have done it once and need to edit it differently. Hope to here soon. Thanks,
  15. I'm using Toast 10.0.3 pro, PM G5 10.5.8 all updates installed. When I click on the extract button, toast extracts the file and the elgato remote shows up and the mediabrowserfile window opens but the editor portion does not. When I click on the view tab, the "open editor" is dinned. What is causing this? When I do the same on my MBP, 10.5.8 with toast 10.0.3 pro, it works as expected. I'm using the same dvd and same chapter number on both macs. Please help. Thanks ps When I use Toast 9.0.7 on my PM G5, it does show up!! What would cause the editor to not show up on 10.0.3 but show up on 9.0.7? (incidentally, it also does not show up on 10.0.1 or 10.0.2 on my PM G5.

Toast Video Player Not Showing Editor Under View Tab

Well, I did as you suggested and it worked perfecftly. I just scrambles my brain as to why such a workaround is necessary. I wonder if there aren't more quirks between the PM/PB PPC and the intel mac platforms. I have found the save/save as as problematic between the two platforms as well. I know that PPC is out to pasture and s/w continues to move forward, but it would be nice to be aware if there are technical differences what they are and if they are fixable or not and if not then what are the options. As always, thanks for your expertise as I know that I would never have been able to find this workaround on my own. Do you know if Roxio tech support is aware of this? Thanks,

    9.09 update

The latest version of toast 9 I have is 9.0.7. Is there really a 9.0.9? I did a check for update and it says that 9.0.7 is up to date. Thanks

    Couple of Questions: 1. Blu-ray plug-in and 2. v 10.0.3

Does this mean that you can use 10.0.3 and create a disc image and then use 9.0.7 with the blue ray plugin and burn a Bluray dvd? Thanks,

CD Spin Doctor recording truncates upon save

Hmm. It does seem that the save, save as and save a copy as have different attributes. The reason/reasons are unknown to me. I am glad that the save a copy as does work as one would expect. Here is a difference I have found: I have Toast installed on my PM G4, PM G5 and my MBP. If I create one track, do a save as, name the file on either my PM G4 or G5, it will save the file as a CDSD file with the CDSD icon. Of course the first save as makes the one track disappear and then I must actually create the tracks I want and do whatever editing I need to do. Then do the save and it works. But to me that's like opening Word, have to type one sentence, do a save as, name the document, the sentence disappears, then type what I really want and to a save to save the document as its suppose to. If I create one track, do a save as, name the file, on my MBP, it has the standard audio icon and not the CDSD icon. I don't understand that, but that's what happens. Of course the first save as makes the one track disappear as on the PM's, but the file has the standard audio icon and not the CDSD icon. Now, if a do a save a copy as on either the PM machines or my MBP, it works as it should. All icon's are standard audio icons. So to me there is a bug in the save and save as routines on a PM (PPC) that is not occurring on my MBP. I do not know why, but it happens each time. Also, the save a copy as works on both platforms. So I have gotten to the point that I just do a save a copy as all the time and have given up on messing with the save or save as commands. For me the issue of save/save as has been in CDSD for a long time. I am using 10.5.8 on all machines.

    Downloading Blu-ray plug-in for Toast 10 Titanium?

I knew that, you can't really put much HD content on 4.7GB disc. I'm really wanting the full benefit of a blu-ray disc. Does anybody know if the HD plugin for Toast 9 is the same as the one for Toast 10? Thanks,

    Downloading Blu-ray plug-in for Toast 10 Titanium?

Do you know if the Toast 9 Titaninum HD plugin will work on Toast 10 Pro, or is it only for version 9? I purchased the plugin for version 9 but have never used it since I don't have a blue ray burner or HD tv. I am thinking of getting both so that plugin would then be useful. I still have the zip file of the HD plugin for toast 9 if it does work. I see that the plugin for toast 10 only works with version 10. Hoping to not have to purchase it again. If so does it mean that with each version of Toast, there will be a new version of the plugin. Until such time as it gets added into the toast app itself. This is totally a side issue, but now that Popcorn has been updated to version 4 and it only works on intel macs, I wonder if toast 11? will only work on intel macs. Thanks,
