    Ultimate Roxio Game Capture Guide

I tried this out but I can't get FFDShow to appear as a codec choice.
  2. Figures that would be my luck. Thanks, I'll see about getting a replacement then.
  3. Ah yes silly me, I forgot post post my Dxdiag: Pastebin space saver Sorry about the scrolling, I didn't realize the code boxes on this forum don't have scroll bars.
  4. I did a complete uninstall and install this morning to test it again after having updated my drivers last night. No luck though.
  5. At the start of the install, yes it prompted me to check for updates. I clicked yes though I saw no indication that anything in particular was downloaded. I just bought the Game Capture so I guess the CD might be fully up to date.
  6. I just got Roxio Game Capture and did a fresh install of all the software on my new laptop (an Alienware M14X). Every time I try to open up the window to capture video the barebones window pops up and then just stops responding. It appears as in the image below. The cursor shows the rotating circle to indicate that it is working but it doesn't actually ever finish loading. I've seen mention of the fact that I should see the game capture hardware under the device manager but when I install the drivers it never ends up appearing in the list. I suspect that this may have something to do with why it won't connect. I don't know if this is related or not but I found it quite surprising on first inspection. The Game Capture box itself seems to have something reasonably sized and weighty that is loose within the case. If you turn the box on its ends it will slide back and forth. Is this something I should be concerned about? Thanks Steve
