I have a Panasonic AVSHD high def video camera. When I try to add video to a MyDVD project it says the video cannot be edited and it won't add it. I upgraded to Roxio 2011 hoping this would work but I get the same message. I figured Roxio 11 could do everything including manage HD video. What am I missing? Anybody have this issue?

I've used AVS conversion software and this works but it seems to degrade the quality and adds a lot of overhead to my process. I did contact Roxio. They asked me to un-install creator 10 and creator 11 and re-install the 2011 version. No surprise here as this is always the answer. I followed this long and complex procedure and ended up in the same place. I also installed new codecs without any luck. I ended up getting a refund for Creator 11 and was considering buying Creator 12. I'm worried I will end up with the same issue. Does anyone use any other software that is comparable to Roxio that you would recommend trying? I've used Roxio for years but I always end up in the same place eventually... something very important doesn't work.

Thanks for everyone who has replied to this post. If any of you are Roxio employees and can let me know if there is any other approach for resolving this I would appreciate it. Seems like the last time I checked there was support if you paid but I can't recall if there was any guarantee that the issue would be fixed. I am surprised the software is so connected to the display adapter and drivers. Roxio must have a lot of issues like this. I would consider actually changing adapters if I could be sure it would work.

It is a Dell XPS 420. Looking at the Properties of the display card here is what it says... ATI Radeon HD 3600 Series Driver Provider: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. Driver Date: 7/28/2011 Driver Version: 8.881.0.0 Thanks for responding. Please let me know if there is anything else you can think of that I can try.

I did everything described in the 'Prep Steps' and also removed and re-installed the software with all startup programs and anti-virus disabled. Very frustrating. Maybe I need to get a new computer.

Sorry about that, I meant to say Creator 2010 and Creator 2011. I didn't try the fix you mentioned but I will tonight, thanks for your help.

I registered and the site allowed the upload. When you are not registered it allows basic access but not for this file type. The link is below. Thanks for looking at this file. http://www.upfordown.com/files/download/11216/00000.MTS

I am unable to upload a file. The site you gave me will not upload a .MTS file. Please let me know if you have any other ideas on how I can get a file to you. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I am using a Panasonic HDC-TM60. FULL hd 1920*1080 . I just copy the AVCHD format files from disk on the camera to my computer. The files are fine and play in HD on my computer. I will try to convert it but I think I already tried this. I did convert it using an AVS program I have but the quality of the conversion isn't great. It would be nice to use these files natively as I have always done with non HD video clips in Roxio for years. I could post a file to a dropbox share... who would I invite to the dropbox to look at it? Can I just attach a small file to this forum post? Thanks
