    Need Some Help

Alright. I am on a tight budget, and I didn't want to go out and buy some new discs if I didn't have to. Thanks for all your help. I really appreciate it.

I see. Thanks. But can I still burn the disc at 4x speed without the update?
  4. Krazyman

    Need Some Help

So if the discs were a better quality, I would've been able to burn them at the higher speed? And what brand of discs do you recommend? (I am afraid to update the driver in fear of something going wrong. Could I still burn at 4x without the update?)
  5. Krazyman

    Need Some Help

Before I do this, I must ask; Could I just burn discs at 4x speed? I don't plan on making hour long cinematic movies, just converting my tapes to DVD. I don't need anything top-notch quality. I just want the darn thing to work. And for some reason, I feel like I might screw something up and disable my drive while updating it.

    Need Some Help

I just checked Device Manager. It is that same model. Where could I go to update it? Here, I assume? I just found my drive in their discontinued section. Just download the update and run it?

    Need Some Help

It was installed when I got my computer fixed. (A long time ago. I forgot what the cause was). I don't know the name brand (Implying it is a name brand in the first place.) Should I burn normally at 4x?
  8. Krazyman

    Need Some Help

Using these settings; It appears to be working fine. Should I try to burn it normally at 4x burn speed? (When burning normally, should I have "Verify" checked or un-checked?)
  9. Krazyman

    Need Some Help

If I choose a test burn with a clean disc, will it burn any actual data to the disc? Or will it be a simulation to see if it can burn or not? I don't want to waste another disc on a test. (Also, what does the Verify option do? Does it check to see if the disc is able to be burned?)

I used the same disc. I feel like an idiot now for using the same disc, but I am sure that if I used another disc, I would still get an error, wasting a disc. Could I learn about ImgBurn and burning the .iso onto disc? How would this work? Just burn it onto the disc and put it in my DVD player? (I'll be sure to use a clean disc this time.)

They are DVD-R's. Unless the package is falsely marked.

    Need Some Help

I'm downloading ImgBurn right now. The disc in the drive is the one I first used. I used the same settings as I showed before, and I got the error. The disc was clean, so nothing on the disc was interfering with the burning. Part of the error code says "Failed to start the image writing operation", so I figured that it didn't burn any data onto the disc. Thus, me not feeling the need to use a new one (I am really not that savvy when it comes to burning discs and the like, but I am sure that if I used a new disc each time I tried, I would get the same error, and I would waste a disc.) I got the .iso file just now, so it doesn't matter if my disc was used before, right?

Using these settings It finished. 100%. What do I do now? If I burn the .iso right to the disc, a DVD player wont be able to play it, right?
