  1. I've been streaming with no problems the past couple of weeks using my PS2, Xbox 360, and Wii (well, with relatively FEW problems since I started using xsplit). Last night I tried for the first time to hook up my GC HD Pro to my PS3 and quickly became frustrated. I didn't realize it was going to be such a hassle until I couldn't even get a picture on my TV. Up until this time, I had been using HDMI for the PS3. After I hooked up the offiicial Sony component cables and changed the display settings I was able to get the picture on my TV. BUT I was still getting no signal from the PS3 in the Roxio Capture program on my laptop. I spent hours messing with it and looking at tutorials on youtube and on these message boards with no success but I got a few ideas but it was like midnight by then. Then I tried something new this morning. I went into the display settings on my PS3, unchecked the 1080p output and checked 1080i instead and the PS3 signal appeared in the Roxio program. Looks like problem is solved. So even though my TV can handle all the outputs of 480, 720, and 1080, Roxio can't decipher 1080p, only i. Hopefully, if you are getting a no signal redline like me, my experience might help you. Good luck.

    Resolution Keeps Automatically Changing Itself

This seems to happen quite a lot i'll be recording gameplay. When i record gameplay i often play for like 2 hours at a time and the resolution always changes! it goes from 720p to 480p and this happens on both Playstation 3 (component) and Xbox (HDMI). Notes: - i have limited space usually about 20GB - i always forget to check the resolution and i don't see why i should have to 1) how do i fix this? 2) why does it do this?
  5. I just bought the Roxio Game Capture (not PRO) for my PS3, I have followed all the setups for it, but the TV I have is not a HDTV or LCD TV. Is there a way to use the capture device on a non-HDTV with only composite cords or with anyother settings for it to work?

Capture Hd Pro In-Game Com Capture?

hey guys, so i just received the HD pro for christmas yesterday and i want to start using it asap. the biggest thing to me is capturing the in game coms along with the video. i play battlefield 3 religiously and am always on a squad with mics. i've seen youtube videos showing how to capture the coms but they arent very clear.... so my question is, what is the easiest, cheapest way to capture my voice, along with my squad chat with the gameplay on my ps3? im completely new to the game recording devices... Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Picture Trouble...

So I got a Roxio game capture HD pro for Christmas and ever since i tried setting it up i have been having problems... First: I am trying to record my PS2/PS3 i have tried and both have the same problem. the problem being that when i use: component -> device -> component -> TV the image on my TV come out very dark making it almost impossible to see what i'm doing when i play games but when i use: Component -> device -> HDMI -> TV the colouring is wrong. however in both cases on PC in the preview box it is completely normal. Second: I record a few levels of 'Crash bandicoot' from my ps2 and the video appears to shake and flicker(i dont know if this is because its an old game) but it only shakes when crash moves or there's an object that moves in the screen (it does not shake in the game only the video). Third: In the software when i go to the options the only resolution i can get is 576i, this is for my PS2 and PS3. i bought a set of speedlink component cables off of 'Play.com' to try to get a better quality video however i do not know how well this will work. Additional information: I am using an LG TV which is 720p I am using windows 8 on my PC the component cables i am using are: http://www.play.com/Games/PlayStation3/4-/3326138/557968176/Sony-PS3-Component-AV-Cable/ListingDetails.html if video/photos are needed i can provide. as a last thought if there is no way to fix any of these (which is very, very, very unlikely) is it possible to get a refund? Any help will be appreciated thanks in advance.

    Blue Screening..

I saw a post similar to mine, but let me explain my situation in full detail. Also let me clarify that I am not real computer savvy, so this may be a minor issue that I can't solve. But here's what happened in full detail.. it took me a good while to actually set this up despite how easy it claimed to be. Now that's probably because I am an idiot when it comes to these things, but basically after a few YouTube videos I finally got it to work. It was capturing fine, and I was testing the settings out. Now, I currently use my PS Eye as a web/mic device to communicate to the stream and, of course, for them to see me as a stream. Roxio recognized my PS Eye as a mic, but didn't read it as a webcam. I expected that as much, but that's not the thing. The few people in the stream couldn't hear me talking but could hear the PS3 fine (The sound of the XMB). I decided I'd worry about getting the mic to work later and wanted to test the quality on a video game so I booted up PS Allstars (Beta) everything was fine when all the sudden my TV went black, and so did the PS3 image on the dashboard of the software. I restarted my PS3 and nothing happened.. by this time it was late, so I just decided to dick with it later. Well I never got around to it since I had went out of town for thanksgiving. I left everything as is.. Now when I was out of town.. My friend/ old roommate came back from college. He unplugged the HDMI to the Roxio and plugged in the HDMI cord from my cable box back into the TV, and he also unplugged the component cable from the PS3 and moved it into the living room to play PS3 on the bigger TV. Now, nothing else was unplugged. The Roxio stay plugged in to the back of my PC (that I shutdown completely) and only thing he really did was just move the PS3 which I don't see as doing any harm. Now that brings me to right now.. I got back Sunday, but I decided now to see if I could get this thing up and running. I plugged everything back in which took all of 2 seconds, and booted my PS3 up. Now both on the TV, and the dashboard of the Roxio, display a blue screen. I held the PS3 button down to try and reset the settings and nothing happened. I reset the PS3.. and Nothing happened. I reset the PC.. nothing.. the screen stays blue. I saw a thread with a situation like mine, but he was having a problem from start up. I wasn't have the same issue as him since I was capturing and streaming my test settings. I'm gonna unplug the Roxio from the back of the PC because that just occurred to me and I haven't done that yet. Now I use wirecast as a streaming software when playing PC games. I know Wirecast can detect a BMI because a lot of my friends use it when streaming their consoles, so is there a way I can bypass using the Roxio that way, or is it something I need to run at the same time I run wirecast (ASSUMING Roxio and Wirecast are compatible)? Using wirecast seems to be the only way I can use my Webcam/mic as a way of communication to my stream until my headset comes in. Sorry for the long post.. I just want to be as thorough as possible to better help anyone understand so they can explain to me what my issue might be. Remember, I am not a computer wiz, so the easiest explanation would be great, lol.
  11. I recently bought a component cable to use my roxio on the ps3, the PS3 doesn't recognise it. What am I doing wrong? The TV just goes blank.........
  12. Hi all, got a bit of an issue with the Roxio Game Capture with my PS3 console. I have recently made the switch from Xbox to PS3 and i am enjoying it so far, until the same problem occurred with the PS3 as it did with the Xbox. Now i didnt want to complain about this with the Xbox because i just thought that the Xbox component cables were getting on a bit but after buying brand new Official Sony Component Cables the problem persists. I will run you by my PC Specification and whatnot to let you know that my system is way more than capable to run this device (although the recording quality is same as always i guess, its downing a little too). Also my TV is a 23" LG LCD with native 720p screen format. System Specs: i5 2550k @ 3.4Ghz x4 XFX Radeon HD4870 2GB GDDR5 4GB G.Skill Ripjawz @ 1333Mhz 64GB Samsung 830 Series SSD Boot Drive 160GB Games Drive @ 7200Rpm 250GB Storage/Recording Drive @ 7200Rpm Zalman Performa CPU Cooler Gigabyte GAH61MD2HUSB3 Motherboard OCZ Fatal1ty 550W Gaming PSU Now with that spec, the video quality shouldn't really be getting worse should it? I mean i can still play quite demanding games on high/ultra with this setup so a little video capture should be easy going, in fact i know it should be because i screen cap a lot and that is smooth and clear as ever. I am preaching out for solutions as I'm really unhappy with the Roxio quality right now, I was thinking about going up to the Roxio Game Capture HD Pro but if this is anything to go by i wont be making the switch. A rapid answer would be amazing as i would like to get my Youtube channel back up and running properly as soon as possible. Thanks, Camron.
  13. I am already aware of the 'streaming' problems side of things, but my problem is affecting me from even 'Recording'. This is how I have it currently setup: PS3 Specific Component Cable is going directly into the device (Green, Blue, Red, White/Red) The 'output', I simply have a 'Hdmi' cable going from the device directly to my TV. Then on the PS3 display settings: My Video Output | Sound are both set to the 'component' Option. [x] Standard (Pal) [x] 576p [x] 720p [x]1080i [ ]1080p <--- Left un-ticked as stated. Then when I connect the Device to my PC, My PS3 display comes up as normal on my TV (hdmi channel). The problem occurs when I run the Roxio Software, I click 'capture' it loads, then my entire screen is covered by this blank flickering screen making it unable to do absolutely anything leading me to use Task Manager to quit Roxio Software!!! Why is this happening? It doesn't give me a chance to even change any of the options via the Software because of this huge flickering screen. HOWEVER*** After Quitting Roxio Software I simply unticked all resolutions but [x] 576p on the PS3 Display Settings and the problem stops and everything works normal. I specifically purchased the Roxio HD to record in 720p, but it's not possible. Please Help, Thanks.
  14. I was under the impression there was some way to make this work. Is it possible, or was I mistaken? Right now, I play my PS3 on my PC monitor through HDMI (Samsung 2494HM monitor). I switch between my PC and PS3 display by switching from HDMI display to Digital (DVI). My monitor also has an analogue input which I have never used, appears to be RGB. I don't care about 1080p, but I would like to be able to capture screenshots and video. I do of course still have my PS3 analog-component cable. Here's an MS Paint drawing of my situation. It's not drawn here, but I get audio through earbuds coming out of the 'Audio Out' port from my monitor. So, what are my options, if any? My main question: Can I use a component video (YPbPr) to HDMI converter like this one: http://www.amazon.co... hdmi converter on my PS3? Or is there some HDCP-compliance issue that will prevent that from working? Basically, would this setup work?: Any help would be appreciated. Especially any PS3 users who have used a component video-to-HDMI converter, if the HDCP compliance or whatever messes it up or not (I hear it's different for PS3 than X360, so please only those with experience using one with PS3 respond).
