Setup Help - Using One Screen

Hi, I'm new to all this. There's a chance I'm making a schoolboy technical error. I use the same TV for both my PC and my Xbox, as it has both VGA and HDMI inputs. I simply change inputs via my TV remote depending on which of the two I want on screen. Simple. However, I think this may have something to do with my problem. I'm connecting my Xbox 360 to the HD PRO, and sending the output - naturally - to my television via HDMI as well. The PC is currently connected to my TV via typical VGA. I thought that this would only be a minor niggle and that I could simply hit 'record' from the HD PRO software, tune my TV into the HDMI, and play my game on-screen whilst the software ran in the background, off-screen. Apparently not; I am having a WEALTH of problems. First of all, the software is picking up absolutely no connections from my Xbox at all, I simply receive a 'No Signal' error from the capture screen. Connecting the Xbox directly to the TV, changing my settings to any of the compatible video formats, and then reconnecting my setup like before doesn't seem to make a blind bit of difference. Switching my TV between HDMI and PC inputs doesn't hep the issue either - if anything my television seems to spazz out, flickering manically and generally having a rough time of it all. I've tried reinstalling both the software and drivers, different HDMI ports, even swapping my two HDMI cables around, all to no avail. I can only presume that having both the HD PRO software and the Xbox console both being viewed on the same device is causing conflict. Will I need seperate screens for both my PC and Xbox? It's not a deal-breaker if I do, but it certainly is a bummer. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Removing 'hiss' From A Video File

Hello everyone. I am wondering if I can get some help with a query. I have the Creator 2012 Pro suite and I was wondering if it was possible to remove background hiss from the sound on a video file. I transferred an old vhs tape to DVD, then ripped the DVD into a high quality .avi file. There is hiss in the audio and it's quite loud and distracting in some parts and I was wondering if this can be removed without destroying or harming the audio on the video file completely. If someone can help me by giving step-by-step instructions, I would be ever so greatful. I have tried looking in the help folders in the software itself, but I couldn't see anything that was making any sense to me. Thank you for your time.

    Recording Voice Live

Hi, I recently bought the PC game capture software for my birthday and I'm wondering if you can record Live commentaries instead of adding a narration afterwards? If not then I'll just buy Fraps Any reply would be appreciated

  5. Hi all, im new to this site but I'm pretty familiar with the Roxio Game Capture device as i have been using it for a while now. I was just looking for a little info on something that i would like to try with the Roxio. I am thinking about going from a TV (with component connections) to a gaming monitor (without component connections but with HDMI) but i would like to continue using my Roxio as I am only a small time Youtube channel and i dont want to spend loads of money on it to go HD. What i was thinking is to buy a component to HDMI cable but im not sure if it will work, the link for the cable is as follows; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261073247641?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 After thinking about it for quite some time i cant see that there would be any problems but i wanted to get your guys/gals thoughts on this or if any of you have done this yourself and have first hand experience then that would be even better. Thanks for taking the time to look at this and i look forward to hearing from any of you shortly -Camron

    Too Many Problems

I hate this thing. I have an Xbox 360 Slim and the capture card only captures in a fuzzy black and white. Also its a puzzle to figure out how to get it plugged in, because i don't have an hdmi cable or whatever it is they require. All i have is the standard red, white and yellow component cable and an older, non-HD TV. If anyone can help me with this, i would appreciate it. This cap card is god awful.
  8. Iv seen and read a couple posts in the forum on the same situation i am having but i still have no clue....if i could get some help it would be most appreciated.... I try running the setup DVD and it gets to the Roxio setup wizard.. iv tried skipping the updates and iv tried doing the updates when it asks you... going with or without the updates..i always get - Sonic Setup Application has stopped working...a problem caused the program to stop working correctly windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. iv attached a lil info about my computer i hope it helps..and please if i could get some help thanks
  9. i plugged in my roxio for the first time, and on the preview screen on the laptop the picture on the screen came up multiple times.Athe wires were in correctly. can anyone help?
  10. Hi I recently just noticed that in the 'Getting Setup' Tutorial for Xbox 360 the man plugs the Xbox 360 Component AV Cable into the Roxio the AV Cables goes fully in the Roxio without showing any of the gold bits. (I took a print screen of the part of the 'Getting Setup' Xbox 360 tutorial where the AV Cables fully into the Roxio) (This is how my AV Cable looks in the Roxio and as you can see compared to the photo above they look different) I don't know if this is a major performance problem but I'm asking does your AV Cables go fully in or do they look like mine if they go fully in could you tell me how you made they go fully in or if yours is like mine then obviously that is the way it is supposed to look. Cheers Sam

    Spin Doctor

I just got Toast 11 in a bundle and I am confused as hell about how to use Spin Doctor. When I went to "help" I get a message saying that there is no help. Is it supposed to auto capture or do I hit record? When does it autodefine? What settings do I use? Having no help is very frustrating. Am I going to have to call Roxio tomorrow to figure all this out? It doesn't seem to work the same way as CD Spin Doctor and I'm ready to tear my hair out.
