  1. My project created with myDvd for a Bluray disc shows the disc is full with a little over 2 mins left, however the iso file generated is only about half the size (12.5gig) , as is the burned disk. Does anyone know why? Using Nxt 2 Pro, all movies created in VideoWave, mp4 files - High Quality etc.. The project has menus. CPU HP Envy17 running fully updates Window7 pro. Thanks

Mydvd Version 1.0 In Toast 14

I have been trying to import some videos into MyDVD, but I keep getting the "File type not supported" message. I have a suspicion that MyDVD 1.0 does not support Quicktime (.mov) files but don't know for sure. Can anybody confirm this? It would not be very useful on a Mac if it doesn't - considering everything from iMovie and the other apps exports as a Quicktime file. Thanks for any feedback you can provide.
  3. I realize this has been brought up before, but I seem to have a slightly different issue. I have created a slide show in Videowave with transitions and audio. It previews perfectly. I can export it as mpeg2 or wmv (albeit with loss of resolution) but when I go to burn it in MyDVD it does not encode properly. I can see black screens DURING the encoding process; generally the same slides but NOT always. I have tried using both hardware and software rendering, with and without Intel enhanced for core something streaming technology. With and without Roxio AVC SmartEncode technology; Encode settings are "fit to disk" (A 30 minute movie on a 4.7GB disc) "interlaced". I run Win7 Pro, Dell XPS with I7 and 16GB Ram. DVD disk type irrelevant as I see this happening DURING the encoding process itself All updates (Win7, Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 7570)

    Mydvd Question

I was wondering if there is any way to stop MyDVD from automaticaly placeing a sub menu on a new menu when the one your curently on is "full". Further explination I am currently working on a progect where I am grouping together many cartoons acording to there stars in sub-menus on the main menu. But after only three sub-menus, it makes another main menu and places the next sub-menu on that one automaticaly. Even when I cut and past the sub-menu from the new menu to the first one it automaticaly goes back to the next menu. Is there any way to stop this from happening? Side note: Why does MyDVD ask you if you want to place movies on a new menu, claming that the current one is "full" when there is clearly room for lots more?
  5. I have a project with a few menus and 11 movies the movies all together are 2.1GB and roxio MyDVD is telling me i need 53810.3MB(53GB) i have no idea what is wrong please help
  6. Using MyDVD, the button settings: Link - After Playing - (has option) 'Use Title Action' I can not find how to set the movie Title Action.
  7. I just upgraded to Creator NXT3. When I try to burn a disk in MyDVD I get the error codes: 80046000 80046000 Error while Opening Project 80004003 Error while Encoding Movie 1 80004003 Error while Aborting Also, the drop down lists do not behave correctly. This is the same problem I had with the previous version along with trouble trying to burn a video. I thought by upgrading it would solve the problem. The list appears elsewhere on the screen and unattached from the menu bar a you can see from the screen shot. Sometimes I'm unable to save my production file in mydvd. The popup simply states "unable to save project." and I cannot create a video file in videowave. Sometimes the process freezes at the end (99%) and sometimes the preview is black and sometimes I can see the video pausing several times through the whole process only to freeze at the end. I've done all the obvious troubleshooting. I use System Mechanic by iolo which is set up to defragment and clean up my disc. Thanks

  9. I cannot burn a DVD from MyDVD in Roxio Creator NXT Pro. When I go to the Burn screen and insert a blank DVD, it says the "Drive is empty". I also cannot copy a data dvd in Copy Disc. When I put in a dvd to copy, it says "Reading disc, please wait..." and that message does not disappear until I click on the green arrow button and then it changes to "Please insert a disc". I can burn a DVD using other software like Win Movie Maker. I have screen shots in a Word doc that I can send if you need them. Posting To Facebook

Hello. Using Roxio s/w for many years, mostly to burn music CDs. But have also created many (home) movie productions. Am now using Roxio NXT. And with the popularity of FB, I would like to post a few of these for my family's (& their friends) enjoyment. But for the life of me, I haven't figured out how. When a new production is created and burned to DVD, the s/w creates 2 folders, named - ROXIOPLASMA & VIDEO_TS . So, how do I get whatever I need from this, to upload to FB? Also, might I run into file size problems (with FB) in doing this? I don't know if they cut you off after a certain #MB. The typical production I create normally consists of several snaps, maybe an occasional & short video clip, and always an audio (MP3) track. Additionally, the finished production always has that obligatory 'intro menu' with accompanying audio (either Roxio's suggested song, or one of my own). And in MyDVD, this intro song, as you know, always gets cropped. And never at a 'convenient' spot! So, can I do this? And if yes, how? Thank you so much!
  12. I submitted the following warranty request to Corel and below that I have placed the solution they provided, which fixed my problem. I thought other users may be able to benefit from this. "I have Roxio Creator NXT Pro installed on my system and whenever I try to start VideoWave or MyDVD I receive the error “VideoWave has stopped working” and I must shut down the program. When I originally installed Roxio NXT on my system (with administrator rights) it worked fine. I even created a DVD with MyDVD. I first became aware of this p roblem when I tried to run MyDVD again, with the intent of authoring another DVD. I am running Windows 7 SP1 on a Pentium 4 3.60GHz system. I didn’t make any changes to my system (software or hardware) before this problem started, other than Windows updates. Here are the steps I have tried to correct the problem, with no success. Attempted repair from Control Panel, Programs and Features from clean boot multiple times (5 or 6) with no luck. Uninstalled Roxio NXT and attempted to reinstall using Roxio Cleaner from clean boot with administrator rights multiple times. The installation failed and rolled back every time. I used up my 10 installs and had to request my Product Key to be reset. I attempted to reinstall again with no luck. After this, I restored my system from a drive image to at least get the installed Roxio NXT back. I then tried a repair from a clean boot with admin rights 4 times and still VideoWave does not work. Please tell me how I can get Roxio Creator NXT Pro MyDVD and VideoWave working properly again on my system. Thank you." And here is the fix Corel provided. One note; the Creator NXT Pro would not install under the new user account I created, but it did install properly under my original administrator account, I guess the repairs to DirctX, MSXML and .NET Framework did the trick. Thank you for contacting Corel Customer Support. Here's what I can recommend. 1. Remove Roxio on your current account. 2. Create a new admin account. 3. Clear temp files and make sure to turn off Antivirus and Firewall 4. Repair or reinstall this following plugins DirectX, MSXML 4.0 and .NET Framework http://www.microsoft...s.aspx?id=15697 http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=8109 Go to control panel and then locate and uninstall Microsoft .NET framework. Reinstall .NET framework from the link below. http://www.microsoft...s.aspx?id=17718 5. Install Roxio NXT on the new user admin account

    8004520C Error

I have a movie that I recorded using my digital camera. I was able to convert it to a MPEG-2 file (eventually). I am now trying to convert it/burn it as a DVD movie using MyDVD. When I tell it to Burn to Disc, I get an error saying "8004520c Error while Encoding Movie 1". Any help/suggestions would great. Specs: Windows 8.1 Creator NXT2 Core i7 870 Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 All drivers are up to date.
  15. I could not find the answer to my question in any of the other NXT forums, so I guess I'll start a new topic. Forgive my ignorance, but I am trying to understand Video formats (containers, codecs, bitrate, resolution, aspect ratio, etc.) and the impact these settings have on creating a DVD with Roxio NXT MyDVD. I have several old DVD's that were created with a DVD recorder connected to a conventional TV (late 90's). The video files on these DVD's are in a 4:3 aspect ratio. I would like to create new DVD's with menus and improved video but keep the same Aspect Ratio. I can rip the original video file from the DVD (using WinXDVD Ripper) and create an MPEG file that has a resolution of 720x540 (4:3) at a bitrate of 3000kbps. I imported the original file into Videowave to edit out commercials, improve the color, etc. See the screenshot showing the file details. After applying the edits, I wanted to output the project to an MPEG file that I could use in MyDVD. However, there is no preset output option that will retain the original resolution of 720x540. This seems a bit unusual since 720x540 seems to be a common resolution on non-commercial DVD's. That being said, I selected "Same as Original" for the Video Quality setting. See screenshot. Fortunately the output MPEG file had a resolution of 720x540 at a bitrate of 3000kbps - same as the source! But creating a DVD using MyDVD and retaining the video properties is not possible. After creating my menu and adding the MPEG file output from VideoWave, I selected File/Project Settings and discovered there is no option to select a resolution of 720x540 at a bitrate of 3000kbps. The best I could do to keep a 4:3 Aspect Ratio was to select the options as shown below and reduce the resolution to 352x240: Does anyone of the Creator gurus have any advice on the subject? Let me add it is pretty embarrassing to have to resort to Windows DVD Maker to create a 4:3 DVD! Regards, Jerry
  16. I originally posted this in the forum topic: http://forums.suppor...-creating-dvds/ But I think it is best to start a new topic on the subject of Creating and Saving custom menu styles in MyDVD because I'd like to think I'm not the only one who has struggled with this. So here it goes. I have been doing a lot of work recently with custom menus for some DVD projects in NXT. Sknis has a good video on the subject at: Also there are some good notes at: http://forums.suppor...ger-than-30sec/ The demonstration in the video is somewhat dated, but still relevant for creating one-off custom menus that you do not need to use again. If you follow this process by editing the original (default) menu in VideoWave, then follow the instructions from "How to create a custom menu longer than 30sec": Note the total LENGTH Click BACK TO MyDVD button above the preview Select VIEW / SETTINGS Make sure MOTION MENU is checked if you have MPG background or still images with music For duration, type in the total length that you had in the Movie Edit View This process will create a valid DVD project, but does not save the custom menu for reuse. When I was back In the Menu Edit View I followed the instructions in the MyDVD Help file to Create a Custom Menu Style. I have attached a copy of the relevant page to this post. It says to select File > Save as Menu Style and the Custom Menu Style dialog box opens. You are to select a menu in the Main Menu box and a menu in the Chapter Menu box. But the dialog box did not show any menu selections just previews of my menus: So I input a style name and clicked OK. By searching my hard drive, I discovered NXT created my custom menu (or so I thought) in the <User>\AppData\Roaming\Roxio\DVD\4x3\Themes folder. It created four files: Theme.dmsd, Theme_chapm.png, Theme_mainm.png, and Theme_thmbn.png However, when I opened a new MyDVD project and selected Change Menu Style, the thumbnail of my custom menu was displayed in the list, but when I selected it to apply to my new project, the background of the main menu was blank (black). So after a lot of trial and error, I found the following method works to create and SAVE a custom menu style: Open MyDVD Select a menu style as a starting point (perhaps one with button styles you like – although button styles can also be changed. If you want to change the default audio, Select MENU and choose REMOVE MENU AUDIO In the Task Pane/Edit Area, Select Change Menu Background, browse to a file you want to use as the background and select it. If you want to add custom audio, in the Task Pane/Edit Area, Select Change Menu Audio, browse to an audio file and select it. Select VIEW / SETTINGS. Make sure MOTION MENU is checked if you have MPG background or still images with music. Set the Duration time to a value that is compatible with your choices for background and audio. Select FILE/Save As Menu Style and in the Custom Menu Style dialog box, just type in a Style Name and Click OK. Remember the Custom Style will be saved in the <User>\AppData\Roaming\Roxio\DVD\4x3\Themes folder. This has some implications if you want to make your DVD projects portable to another computer. As long as you have an identical User Name on the multiple computers you can move the Themes folder from one computer to another. I also store my custom audio and background files in the …\Roaming\Roxio folder so my custom menus will find the required files. At this point, you can save the MyDVD project and continue to work on it at a later time or you can continue by adding movies, changing button styles, etc. Now when I opened a new MyDVD project and selected Change Menu Style, the thumbnail of my custom menu was displayed in the list, and when I selected it, the background of the main menu was as I had saved it and I could apply it to my project. Well, I think that is enough rambling for now. I hope this information is helpful and will stimulate some conversation on the creation and retention of custom menu styles in MyDVD. 17. MyDVD2012 FAILS and hangs at 80% of BlueRay creation and NO messages. Other BlueRay compilations do burn OK so it is not the burner. MyDVD simply "Locks Up" at 80% completion. It always locks at "Writting Format" It is a big project with 20 Gb to be burned. But with Zero information as to the problem, it seems hopeless to debug. I have tried a Reinstall of softeare and nothing different. i suspect it is something in the layout of the project ?????? Any advice appreciated. Thanks .... Dj
  18. Hello everyone, I have an issue with myDVD that I'm hoping somebody may be able to help with. I've used Roxio Creator for many years - first Creator 2010, then 2012 and now Creator NXT - it's main purpose being to create home DVDs. My process for creating my DVDs are as follows: 1. I create the videos in VideoWave and export & save them as MPEG movie clips (for DVD playback). 2. I then create a DVD menu with MyDVD and ‘add new video clips’ (the above mentioned MPEG movie clips I created in VideoWave). I've never had any issues or problems, this method has always worked for me. The last time I used this process successfully was when I had Windows 7 and Roxio Creator 2012 installed on my PC. The problem started when my husband installed Windows 8… I was still able to use Creator 2012 to create the videos in VideoWave, but when I created the DVD menu and added the MPEG movie clips, all of a sudden the 'movie clips' had no sound when previewing the DVD (by clicking on the 'Preview Project' button). We checked for updates, read forums, tried everything we could think of but was left with the conclusion that we’ll have to purchase Creator NXT which is Windows 8 compatible. Which we did. But unfortunately the new software didn't solve the problem! When previewing the DVD menu, the movie clips have no sound. The DVD menu's music still plays, but as soon as I click on the button/link on the menu to view the movie clip, it’s completely silent. Naturally, when you play the movie clip outside of myDVD (with Windows Media Player), it has sound, there is no problem with the file – the movie clips work fine. I have not burned it to a DVD to see if it works when playing back on a DVD player, but I doubt it would work since it doesn't when previewing the project (and I don't really want to waste a disc). I honestly thought that this was a Windows 8 compatibility issue, but with Creator NXT still having the same problem, I don’t know what to do (except go back to Windows 7 and Creator 2012, which worked perfectly). I am hoping that someone will be able to advise or assist me with a possible solution. If you require any further details or information from me to assist you with your troubleshooting, please let me know. I have attached the diagnostics file which I saw was requested in other posts. Thank you in advance for your time & assistance! DxDiag.txt
  19. Please help me show the submenu titles at the Main Menu (very first landing screen) in MyDVD. For discussion purpose, my MyDVD project is structured as follows: - Submenu A - submenu 1 - dmsm file a - dmsm file b - dmsm file c - Submenu B - submenu 2 (My title shows up with following movies) - dmsm file d - dmsm file e - dmsm file f - Submenu C - submenu 3 (My title shows up with following movies) - dmsm file g - dmsm file h - dmsm file i For my MyDVD project, "Menus" tab in "Project View" shows the munu hierarchy as I would like. However, my issue is that Submenu A, B, and C shows blank screens in the "Preview" section. I cannot figure out how to edit Submenu A, B, C screen. I would like the Submenu A, B, C to show screen preview of submenu 1, 2, 3 respectively. Or if that is not possible, I would like to at least add "text title" to Submenu A, B, and C to help viewers navigate through the Main Menu screen. This is my very first Roxio project. I would really appreciate your input! Thank you.
  20. OS: Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 Processor: Intel ® Core i5 CPU 760@2.80GHz Ram: 8 GB System Type 64Bit Graphics Card: NVidia GeForce 315 : VideoWave Whenever I try to work with a tivo file this product hangs and quits responding. Are there any fixes or suggestions? Thanks,
  21. Greetings, I am running Creator 2012 on a Win7 Ultimate machine. All too often when I start, or after I am using MyDVD (videowave13) an error dialog pops up that says that "Remote Desktop Connection is not supported by this application". At that point my only apparent option is to crash out of MyDVD and lose any unsaved work. I am using MyDVD strictly locally (not over a remote connection). What is the software looking for that makes it THINK I'm connected remotely? Thanks, Arch
  22. I recently had to re-install Windows XP, and when everything was restored, I had no Cineplayer and no DVD decoder. I re-installed the Roxio Creator/MyDVD Combo LE disc that came with my computer, but there is no Cineplayer or DVd decoder. It came with my Dell computer when I purchased it, but now I can't get it back. Any suggestions? Thanks...
  23. Can anyone tell me how to remove the annoying audio that comes when you burn a DVD in Roxio Creator 2012. It always comes on VERY LOUD (much louder than the actual video) and I would like to find the option to remove it. Thanks so much - LS
  24. Creator NXT Pro installed in brand new machine purchased with the NXT system requirements in mind. Videowave works for editing but when I open MyDVD (with Videowave closed or open), I get the main MyDVD window, then the "please select the project type" window. Whatever I select results next in the error message "Videowave has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program & notify you if a solution is available". Then it closes. I've been living in the Knowledge Base & forums & tried all the fixes multiple times including running repair with firewall & antivirus off and uninstalling & reinstalling with firewall & antivirus off & disabling all startup apps per KB article 000012552. I've tried running & installing as administrator as well as trying to open MyDVD directly as opposed to from the main Roxio menu. I have all windows & Roxio updates. Attached DxDiag.txt is my machine information. I have wasted two weeks on what should have been a "simple" software install. Thank you for your time and hopefully your help with a "simple" fix that I might have missed. DxDiag.txt
