    Will Not Install From Dvd

I have been trying to install Toast 14 from a DVD purchased from OWC for a MacMini. I continue to get the error "The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance." I have never had a copy of Toast on this machine, and since installed the recent 10.11.3 upgrade, and had the same result. Customer support from Roxio has not responded and OWC customer support just says it is Roxio's issue to resolve. I copied and pasted the excerpt from the installer log which provides the error detail. Any help to correct the error or identify the problem would be appreciate. ********* "PKLeopardPackage <file://localhost/Volumes/Toast%2014%20Titanium/Install%20Toast%2014(3734).pkg#toastAudioAssistant.pkg>" ) Jan 27 10:06:28 MacMini2012 installd[298]: PackageKit: Install Failed: Error Domain=PKInstallErrorDomain Code=110 "An error occurred while extracting files from the package “Install Toast 14(3734).pkg”." Dvd Image Cropped On Playback

Hi, Just purchased Toast 14. I am authoring DVDs, source video is 1280 x 720 .mp4 files. The display is correct when played back on my Mac or PC, but severely cropped when played back on a DVD player connected to a wide screen TV. I am using automatic aspect ratio setting and burning DVD at best quality. I have tried all combinations of aspect ratio settings, automatic, standard and widescreen with the same result. I have tried a few different DVD players, they all recognize and play the DVDs, but all crop the display. I have adjusted the display settings on the DVD players and the TV as mentioned on this forum but that does not solve the issue. All the DVD players I am using are at least 6 years old...could this be the issue? I read the post about changing the IFO settings but am not sure if this will solve my issue. I'm hoping there is an easier solution/answer to this issue. I am authoring a set of 30 DVDs which will be distributed to a an audience with a variety of types of players, so I'm attempting to make the playback as user friendly as possible. I recently made the switch from iDVD where I did not experience this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I see that this topic has been addressed in the past few months and am hoping there is a solution or clear answer.
  4. I just upgraded my late 2013 Mac Pro to El Capitan today (10.11.2). It seemed to install fine, but I cannot get it to launch--it just sits there with the spinning beachball of death. All I can do is Force Quit & then it wants to send an error report to Apple. I uninstalled Toast 14, reinstalled it & rebooted but still no success. Is there an issue with Toast 14 running under the latest version/update of the Mac OS? Is there a fix in the works? Thanks,
  5. Every time I click on recorder settings in (e.g. in the menu bar) Toast Titanium 14 crashes. Clicking on the recorder settings icon in application window, nothing happpens. Does anyone notice the same problem? If yes, it could be a compatibility issue with the recent release of Mac OS X 10.11. (I also run the public beta of Mac OS X 10.11.1). I have a MacBook Pro 13" (mid 2012) with an OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5970H ... thanks for any help!

    Audio Distortion With Toast 14

I am a long time supporter and user of Toast. In fact, I've been using it since it was owned by Adaptec back in the early 2000's. I'm mentioning this because I am very experienced with the software and it's progression since it has been developed now by Roxio. I just purchased and installed Toast 14 and I'm having audio distortion issues similar to a problem that I had with Toast 8. When I import or drop audio files into Toast, and then play them back there is a slight distortion I hear. This makes the software unusable. I'm running Mac OS 10.9 on a 2010 MacPro. I'm using MOTU 424 PCIe card along with the MOTU 24 I/O audio interface. Can anyone shed any light on this issue. I sent in a tech support ticket yesterday but haven't heard back from anyone yet and need to resolve this issue ASAP. I could really use some positive feedback to help me resolve this issue ASAP. Thank you!
