  1. Very disappointed with Roxio's Decision to eliminate Cineplayer and replace it with Corel's WinDvd. Windvd just does not seem to work as well. Not only that, I had the registered version of Corel windvd and when I installed Roxio it downgraded my Pro version of Corel windvd to the new standard version. This really sucks, at least they could have included the pro version. Since Corel bought Roxio and all these other Companies the Tech support system seems to have gone downhill. I guess their plan is to make an inferior product and then make their money charging their customers to solve the problems they created. I remember when Roxio and Corel stood by their product and when you rarely had a problem you just called them up and they would help you solve it. Not charge you for it......
  2. This is not the first time with this problem but it reared its head again. Only on my Windowss 7 x64 machines (not on Vista Home 32) CinePlayer since tonight has been constantly giving me a "configuring CinePlayer" notice then what ever program I am using crashes. I had the same problem in May then it disapeared until today when downloading media files with Firefox. Clicking on save brings up the CinePlayer note then Firefox crashed (multiple attempts). CinePlayer is installed correcfly and has now problems when I use it to play files including DVD's. Reinstalling it the last time made it worse, meaning all I had to do was open a folder with a media file in it and it would crash (before only clicking on a wmv file would do it). Why it went away last time and has know returned is unknown. There is no default file types listed for CinePlayer so there should be no calls for it. The saving media file from in Firefox is new. I usually use SMPlayer nad have not had any froblems opening files from within the program as of yet.
  3. I purchased Cineplayer DVD Decoder for windows XP about a week ago. The computer I use it on however does not have internet access. I am wondering if anyone can tell me how I can activate it offline? I have the offline activation ID the software supplied. I have tried registering for a support code using my order number and the software key, but neither of them work with the website. I filled out the form to manually get a support code from tech support, but the corel help desk has not responded. My apologies if this is the wrong forum to put this in, but this appears the most active of the 'legacy' DVD products. Much Thanks!
  4. I recently purchased Creator NXT Pro. I am having an issue with the Capture Video program. When I launch it, I get prompted with a dialog box titled "Roxio CinePlayer Decoder Pack." The message states: "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the 'Roxio CinePlayer Decoder Pack' disk and click OK." The "Use source" folder defaults to "1". I have extracted the large .exe file into the various components and pointed the installer at the CPDP.msi file in the CPDECODERPACK_434 folder, and when I click OK, I get a message that says "The file C:\...CPDECODERPACK_434\CPDP.msi' is not a valid installation package for the product Roxio CinePlayer Decoder Pack. Try to find the installation package 'CPDP.msi' in a folder from which you can install Roxio CinePlayer Decoder Pack." I am basically stuck here, unable to provide the program the file it is looking for, and when I click Cancel, I get another message that says "An installation package for the product Roxio CinePlayer Decoder Pack cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package 'CPDP.msi'. Please advise. Thank you.
  5. My Cineplayer used to work fine until I restored my computer. Now I get an error message "The application cannot be launched due to insufficient video resources". I'm using Win 8 Pro with Media Center.
  6. Hoping someone can help me here, I have an asus g74s and it came preloaded with Roxio CinePlayer BD. Only just yesterday did I use my laptop to play a movie for the first time, it was The Dark Knight Rises from a Redbox on blu-ray, and it worked perfectly. Today however, I rented Looper, also on blu-ray, but this time cineplayer wouldnt play it. The error message "The application could not read this copy protected disc. Please clean the disc or try another." Both movies are blu-ray, both JUST came out on the redbox and are clean and scratchless. I tried looking through the forums but couldn't find an answer, and I've tried running Check for Updates from the Help button and there are none that it could find.
  7. I recently had to re-install Windows XP, and when everything was restored, I had no Cineplayer and no DVD decoder. I re-installed the Roxio Creator/MyDVD Combo LE disc that came with my computer, but there is no Cineplayer or DVd decoder. It came with my Dell computer when I purchased it, but now I can't get it back. Any suggestions? Thanks...
  8. Hi, having read many of the Forum's members' topics, I am confident that you might be able to help me. I have in vain search the internet for: 1) a list of release dates for cineplayer 2) a list of the 'development' of the names, fx: first it was Cineplay -> then it was CinePlayer with 3D -> .......? I am hoping that some of the experts in this forum might have pieces to the puzzles. THX
