  2. To save the reader the grief of going through this entire set of posts, I have found what seems to be a solution to the problem of NXT-3 freezing. I have upgraded my system and that has dramatically smoothed out the process and now it actually appears that it works every time! I am now using: Windows 7 Professional Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-2500 CPU @ 3.30 GHz 3.30 GHz Installed memory (RAM): increased from 8.0 GB to 16 GB System Type: 64-bit Operating System With the purchase of the new system, all programs were reinstalled including Roxio NXT-3. There may have been some issues in the old set up that were causing the program to freeze but after discussing the situation with my trustworthy computer guy, who has helped me over the years, we decided that an upgrade to my system was the best move. The biggest component to that upgrade was increasing the RAM from 8GB to 16GB. (It was not that expensive.) That lack of RAM was maxing out the ability of the computer do all the work required on some of the big projects that I was trying to complete and therefor 'freezing' it up. I hope this was helpful. Basic Computer Information: Windows 7 Home Premium, Processor: Intel ® Core: TM i5 CPU, RAM: 8GB 7.8 GB useable, System Type: 64-bit Operating System I have been running Roxio NXT 3 for over a year making videos with no problem. Recently I purchased a copy of Roxo’s ‘VHS to DVD Plus 3’ but it would not transfer video from my Sony DCR-TR7000 so I uninstalled it and returned it to the store. (I was successful in transferring a video from the camera to my computer using NERO, a program that has been on my computer for a long time.) However after removing ‘VHS to DVD Plus 3’, I started having problems with NXT 3. I could construct a video project with Video Wave and get it to transfer to My DVD. I was able to change the background, put in chapters, add music and save the project successfully. Here is where the problem began. At several points the MyDVD began to freeze up. It became non responsive. This occurred primarily in 2 spots. Please see the attached file. The first issue seemed to be related to my use of the ‘go to linked menu/movie’ or sub menus list that was displayed in the ‘Project View’ window (found on the left side) and below ‘Productions”. As I attempted to navigate through that area by selecting the links it would freeze completely up even if I waited for a long time for something to happen. At this point I would open the ‘Task Manager’ and force it to shut down. The second issue occurs when I would select the preview button in MyDVD, sometimes it would work the first time it was selected but not a second time. Frequently the preview screen would open but the chapter screen that showed the chapters loading might just freeze up. At this point I would open the ‘Task Manager’ and force it to shut down. If I was successful previewing the project then closed that screen whole program would freeze and I was forced to go to the ‘Task Manager’ to force it to close. I must tell you that I am a dedicated saver. As soon as I completed one step of the process of creating a playable DVD project for my TV, I would save the work. To many times I have lost large portions of work so I have learned to save, save, save! I also want you to know that I limit the project size to what the DVD can safely hold. I monitor that carefully. Here is what I did in an attempt to correct the problem. I thought that if I reloaded a fresh copy of NXT 3 over the old copy of NXT 3 the problem might be corrected. I did not have a hard copy of the NXT3 program so I contacted Roxio and they showed me how to download another copy from the internet. I did that successfully. I have followed several suggestions that I read about on the Roxio Community Forum. First I removed Java. Next I completely removed the older copy of NXT 3 using Microsoft’s uninstall, then completely removed any traces of the old program with an updated version of CCleaner followed by using CCleaner to fix any registry issues. Turned off the computer and rebooted it. Turned off all the anti-virus software. Then reinstalled the fresh copy of Roxio NXT 3. Still the same problem! I have done this about 4 times with no success so now I am asking for help. After working through this all day yesterday and this morning I have been able to successfully make a playable DVD for my TV. That was only accomplished by starting at Video Wave (Edit Video – Advanced) loading the project file, taking that to My DVD then recreating menu background effects, chapters, music and one successful preview. At that point I saved the file, shut down the complete program. I reopened it, went to My DVD, reloaded the project, and then went directly to ‘Burn my DVD’. That process allowed me to successfully make the playable DVD. All aspects of the DVD worked. I do not expect that is how you intended the program to work. Something is not functioning correctly when I get to the Preview process or use the I have a vague recollection that I had a similar issue when I first bought the program or maybe an earlier version of Roxio Creator and a tech helped me make some modification to my computer that corrected the issue. Any Suggestions??
  3. Before I upgraded to version 14, toast was working perfect in the previous version. I am very disappointed in a software, that I've been using for over 10 to 15 years. The issue I am having with version 14.1 When I burn my CD, Not only is it slow but it will not mount when I am giving that option. Sometimes I will wait 10 minutes for it to mount, but get no success. My computer is an Apple: o/s El Capitan 10.11.1 Mac Pro (Early 2008) 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 16 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM I really need help with this because I've already wasted 30 CDs, which is becoming very costly.

  5. Everytime I finish recording a 20 - 30 min. video and I try to export it in VideoWave, it crashes on every option I choose except for WMV 9. I already tried reinstalling it and I've wiped my hard drive but it still won't work. I have a picture of the option I used and then a picture of what happened after I tried exporting it. MY CP Info: Processor : Intel® Pentium® CPU G620 @ 2.60GHz Video Card : Intel® HD Graphics Family Memory : 4.0 GB Operating System : Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit

  7. Recently, I've had trouble with rendering videos on NXT 2. After saving the video and beginning the rendering process, it freezes/stops at a certain point. The input is a wmv and the output is an mpeg4. Any solutions to this? Thanks, Erik
  8. I am fairly new to Creator, but have created a couple of DVDs successfully. I am attempting to create a DVD from a single large (1:37) MP4 file. Everything is fine through creating markers for the chapter entries. When I go back to the menu tab to edit the menu button text with chapter headings, MyDVD freezes. It will also freeze if I try running the preview. Killing the process generates a message that VideoWave is not responding to Windows. I have done this with smaller menus - this one has 8 chapters in (presumably) 2 pages. Everything appears to be working fine before creating the menu markers. Is an 8 item menu simply too large to handle? My system is a 64 bit Windows7 Dell XPS8700 with an i7 processor and 8G of memory. Task Manager perfomance shows less than 2G memory being used and 4 of the 8 cores running ~50% with the other 4 close to idle, so I don't think that it is a lack of resources. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Steve
  9. I've tried to export the same video through VideoWave five times now. The editing goes fine: I make my cuts, add transitions, insert music, etc. But when the time comes to export it as a useable MP4 video file, it crashes my PC. I'm running Windows 7, it gets about halfway through the exporting process, then the computer freezes and I get the blue screen of death. Any ideas why, and how to fix it?

  11. Hi there. I'm using Toast 11 in my 2007-era Mac Pro, and since purchasing it I've had increasing problems with burning discs, to the point that I can't really seem to get it to complete one successfully. Everything seems to be fine until the Writing Lead Out appears, at which point it just sits there forever, until I Force Quit the application. The discs mount on my desktop, and all appears to be okay with them, but I don't quite trust them, and it'd be great to have it work as intended. I'm running 10.6.8, and an Atapi iHAP222 W burner. Any ideas?
  12. Hi, I've looked through the forum and I cannot seem to find this problem. This error is not a DVD disc problem as I have made a disc image a few times with exactly the same problem. I have quite a large video file, just under 2 hours and then 2 smaller video files. I've been through all the files and there are no problems with them before entering Toast. Due to the size / length of the videos Toast has to compress them a little bit to fit them onto a single layer DVD. The quality is fine, but every time that the video fades to black or fades from black etc, it freezes for a split second before continuing. Why is this, and how can I fix this? Has anyone else come across this problem? Many thanks in advance to anyone that replies. Phil
  13. Every time I try to burn a HD-DVD Toast 11 freezes when it gets to 99% completed. I have a Mac OS X with all updates installed. I have Toast version 11.0.0. I just bought this and can't get it to work. I need to deliver DVD's to clients ASAP. Please help!!!
  14. recently i got the Roxio gamecapture HD Pro, the device itself is great the recording software works fine asswel but, the editting software seems to be very bad. every time i touch something it freezes for 5-10 minutes until i can do anything. it has to be a software problem because my Pc is a beast and should be able to handle it. does anyone have an idea how to fix this or tips on how to make it stop freeze Please help me
  15. Hi, this problem is driving me crazy. I paid for a the latest version of Toast Titanium 11 Pro for my Early 2008 Mac Pro 8 core with OS X 10.8.2. The download went smoothly, as did the install. But when I go to run it, I get the lovely spinning wheel, and must Force Quit the app (shows as Not Responding). The Corel support pages were of no help. I have wasted many hours trying to re-install it and also to install updates. I ran an earlier version of Toast on a Mac Mini and it was awesome. This is very frustrating! Thanks! Scott
  16. I just fired up my new TiVo and am overjoyed that I can pull recordings off it into my Mac Mini (mid-2011). However, when I try to edit the TiVo HD files to get rid of the commercials and prepare them to turn them into H.264 files, Toast 11.1 hangs and I have to force quit it. I've only had luck with standard definition files so far. HD files all seem to freeze and hang. Is there anything I should do besides restarting my Mac? Everything else seems to work like a charm. I even checked and updated the software as directed a few hours ago. Still no happiness. Thanks! Jerry
