  1. I have Roxio easy VHS to DVD for Mac. trying to load onto my MAC and the software does not recognize the USB capture device. (UB315-E ver3. I am on IOS 10/15.4. Has anyone been able to one the necessary drivers to get PC to recognize the USB device?
  2. I have converted over 100 VHS tapes to digital using Roxio Video Capture on my MacBook Pro. However, the files are all .mov format. That form at is not as universal as .mp4 and I would like to convert the format for a number of the digital files. Is there a way the Roxio software can do this for me? If not, is there an easy way to do this on my Mac? Thanks
  3. PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS LESS A QUESTION AND MORE OF A KB ARTICLE! RECOMMEND DOING THIS BEFORE YOU TRY ANYTHING ELSE; WORKS 99% OF THE TIME FOR ME! When I have issues with Toast on any version dating back to Toast 14 (Mac), forums, discussion groups and even chatting with Corel/Roxio Support will waste time and ultimately take me to the same resolution. Before checking anything else, do the following below: You'll need your Toast Serial Key (located on your CD/DVD or via email from purchasing online). Without it, might as well contact Corel/Roxio to get another copy of it. Quit Toast Application. Open Finder and navigate to ~/Library/Preferences. Locate and trash the following files (some may not exist if never used): “com.roxio.ScreenCapture.plist”"com.roxio.toast.plist""com.roxio.Toast.LSSharedFileList.plist""com.roxio.MyDVD.plist""com.roxio.videoplayer.plist"“com.roxio.videoplayer.LSSharedFileList.plist”“com.corel.Toast-Audio-Assistant.plist” Empty your trash and reboot your Mac. Login and open Toast. You'll be prompted for serial key, then most problems solved. If that doesnt work, check for updates. Otherwise, this will fix 99% of your issues! Hope this is helpful!
  4. Since upgrading to MacOS Catalina, updates to my Music (ex-iTunes) library no longer flow through to the Audio list of folders and files in Toast 17. This is true both for adds and changes of both files and folders. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Thanks much!
  5. I still make mix CDs for people. I really like the ability to use crossfades in Toast 18. I've tried to make several differnt CDs using Mac external CD drive. They all seem to burn fine but when I try to play them pack they get stuck at track 39 and seem to be searching for the next track. There were 59 total tracks on the latest CD of that helps any of you. Any thoughts?
  6. I am on a Mac Powerbook running Mac OS Sierra 10.2 I've used Roxio for years to create mix CDs by dragging and dropping in playlists from iTunes and then adjusting the crossfades. Recently, when I burn these CDs to a disc they pay great until around track 43 and then the tracks are silent and the disc player sounds like it's searching or having trouble tracking. This happens in my car CD player as well. Any thoughts on why this is happening? I've tried swapping out tracks with no success. The Disc has 53 tracks total that take up 692.8 MB on the disc. thanks, B.
  7. I prepared a .disc file with a list of videos captured by ElGato EyeTV. Toast is happy with these files and lets me edit them for start and end times. But when I go to compile the video -- either with Save As Disc Image, or with Burn -- the progress dialog comes up and shows "preparing" and "Multiplexing" for various segments but quickly ends with the message, Could not record the disc because of a Mac OS Error Result Code = -208 The secret here is that Mac OS result code -208 means "invalid file format". What Toast is unable to explain (despite the fact that people were reporting this problem as far back as Toast 7 in 2009!!) is that the video encoding used by EyeTV is not compatible with writing to disc. The solution is to go to the Customize dialog, Disc tab, and change Reencoding from "Automatic" to "Always". This forces Toast into the very time-consuming step of re-encoding each video to the target format (MPEG-4). That eliminates the error. Toast, you could have told us this. Or, you could recognize when re-encoding is needed and done it, instead of making me specify it.
  8. Every time I try to burn a Blu-ray, Toast crashes and ejects the disc. It is not always the same thread, despite burning the same files with the same settings. Any help is appreciated. 9. About 1/2 of the time when I CONVERT to MP4 or BURN it never makes it to 100%.. Any suggestions? I am converting .tivo files into mp4 and then burn on dvd. Seems like if I do not refresh the Finder directory it never makes it past 100%.... Any suggestions?
  10. As soon as I go to burn from my MacBook Pro using Toast 14.1 and a PawTec external writer I get the following error: Interface Error: 5 The connection is not stable I've tried using a different cable and some other testing to see if it was a hardware thing. Testing other software over the last few months, I can burn directly from Final Cut, and iSkysoft iMedia, and I believe a CD from iTunes but I haven't gotten a single disc to burn with Toast. Any ideas??
  11. I have created MPEG2 and MPEG4 DVDs using Toast12 Titanium. Neither of these will play on standard DVDPlayers. I have attempted playing both versions on 4 different DVD Players with no success. I used all of the steps for creating and burning DVDs , no luck! Am I missing something?
  12. Every time I click on recorder settings in (e.g. in the menu bar) Toast Titanium 14 crashes. Clicking on the recorder settings icon in application window, nothing happpens. Does anyone notice the same problem? If yes, it could be a compatibility issue with the recent release of Mac OS X 10.11. (I also run the public beta of Mac OS X 10.11.1). I have a MacBook Pro 13" (mid 2012) with an OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5970H ... thanks for any help!
  13. On iMac 27" Yosemite - 2014 with toast Titanium 14 - I have tried to record from the web. When and if a recording succeeds, it also contains the environmental noise (my voice, noises, etc.) The audio function doesn't seem to give me any other options but Microphone or Sunflower. What am I doing wrong? (I'm not quite sure what Sunflower is).
  14. I am a long time supporter and user of Toast. In fact, I've been using it since it was owned by Adaptec back in the early 2000's. I'm mentioning this because I am very experienced with the software and it's progression since it has been developed now by Roxio. I just purchased and installed Toast 14 and I'm having audio distortion issues similar to a problem that I had with Toast 8. When I import or drop audio files into Toast, and then play them back there is a slight distortion I hear. This makes the software unusable. I'm running Mac OS 10.9 on a 2010 MacPro. I'm using MOTU 424 PCIe card along with the MOTU 24 I/O audio interface. Can anyone shed any light on this issue. I sent in a tech support ticket yesterday but haven't heard back from anyone yet and need to resolve this issue ASAP. I could really use some positive feedback to help me resolve this issue ASAP. Thank you!
  15. I am not very sharp re computers, but thought hey I can do this. I have downloaded software 10.3 Roxio & am trying to put my VHS home tapes onto my Macbook pro. All i see is a green screen-audio o.k. though, I think. Help!
  16. Hey All, I know currently that the Roxio Game Capture HD Pro currently does not work with any Apple computer (unless you run windows through it), but is there any news about a possible update that might be coming out soon that would enable you to record gameplay using a Mac computer? Or is it physically impossible due to something inside the capture card. If you guys have heard anything please be sure to post here ASAP Cheers, PsYchDesmon
  17. hi. I bought toast 2011 and installed in a mac book pro but i have now a imac and i want to know how to install my license in that new imac.
  18. Video encoding (.mkv to DVD) is really slow. I let it run for 8 hours and it was only 40% done. I have an iMac (3.5GHZ quad core i7, 32GB RAM) with an NVIDIA 4GB 780M video card, and found that the Mac Cuda driver would help with performance. So I installed the latest Cuda driver from NVIDIA and verified it was installed in System Preferences. I restarted restarted my computer, but the VideoBoost option is still greyed out. I thought I'd try another encode (.mkv to DVD), so I let it run for an hour, but it only was 4% done. So the conversion is still really slow. Is this slow performance normal? Why can't I enable VideoBoost after installing the Cuda driver? This is new iMac and Toast 12 Pro is a new install (not an upgrade) with the latest Toast 12 update (12.0.1). Also, I've already experienced a couple of crashes during encoding attempts. Hope someone can help. I miss iDVD and was hoping this would replace it. But if it's normally this slow and crashes a lot.... Thanks!! Brian
  19. I went from Toast 6 to Toast 10, and also from PowerBook G4 to MacBook Pro. While still using Toast 6 I digitized several hundreds of tape cassettes to AIFF files on DVDs with CD Spin Doctor in 2004, and I still have them. Now 10 years later to consolidate my files I tried to transfer everything to a single external hard drive for back-up using my MB Pro with Toast 10, but when I load those DVDs into my Toast 10-enabled MB Pro, I see that it still reads the names of the tracks but has stripped them of their timings. All the track times simply read as 0. Although the sound waves are visible in the graph above, the individual tracks have been lost except for the names--as if the entire album is one single block instead of multiple tracks. However, I still have my old PB G4 and Toast 6 on it, and so when I put those same DVDs into that old computer, everything shows up again as expected, with the track times. How can I update this to my current computer and Toast 10?
  20. I have an iMac (3.1 GHz Intel i5, 16GB RAM, OSX 10.9.5) and I noticed a while back Toast Titanium 11 started to burn slower. At first I thought it was the external Apple SuperDrive I started using, but tried the internal drive and had the same results. I currently have three monitor and a total of 9 desktops (using Apple's virtual desktop features, formerly known as Spaces). I discovered today that the slowness seems to be the fact that I have Toast on one desktop and I'm working on another. If I switch over to the desktop Toast is running on it burns faster (at normal speed). Is there a way to make it so Toast will burn at normal speed, even when I'm not on the desktop it's running in? Thanks, Cody

  22. I just purchased the Easy VHS to DVD for Mac to convert my old home videos into digital format. I have recorded two separate videos thus far and have discovered that the audio and video is out of sync on both of the recordings. On both recordings, it starts out with the audio lagging about a full second behind the corresponding video and by the end of the hour long recording, the lag becomes much, much worse (closer to 1-2 minutes behind the corresponding video). What do I need to do to fix this problem?
  23. I have a 65GB file which I used to be able to open Toast and I was able to burn a portion of the video to a DVD as a test. Now I'm trying to do the rest and Toast simply sits there chewing up CPU for days but never comes back. Any suggestions?
  24. if i use the creator 10 on a windows PC to copy the dvd onto an external drive can i burn a DVD with MAC toast from the external drive. my computer with the creator 10 is giving me errors and will not make DVDs any longer
  25. I bought the Roxio easy vhs to dvd for mac. I didn't have problems to capture the video but when I wanted to burn it, I found out that I don't have the Toast basic, which was supposed to be included in the box I bought. I had just one Dvd to install in the box I bought but I don't have any other program or dvd to install the Toast basic. Any idea how can I solve my problem? I'd like to put my movies into a Dvd but without this program I've no idea how it works. What's more, if the program it´s called, vhs to dvd, it would be logical that the program to record dvd is there, isn't it? It would be nice if you can give me an answer. Thanks!
