  1. I am shocked at Toast 19 Pro in 2021. I wish we could just pay Adobe to revive Encore properly. For 100 bucks in 2021 I’m shocked. Come on Toast! Really.. Why don’t you care? Have you even looked at your own forums? I’m here writing this as I try to create an iso / .toast to burn and the encode times are outlandish. 128gb ram / media on M.2 / w9100 16gb I thought it was my burner until I noticed it did everything right outside of Toast. Pioneer 206D So what are we getting with Toast Pro in 2021? No custom menu options? When the hell.. 19 iterations and I have to “turn off” advertising within the “pro” UI? UI mislabeled as Burning disc instead of encoding? why is encoding so slow? These formats have been around for 20+ years. why are the “pro” menu template designs like circa 1992? why are we using work-around methods to burn when the function should just work? Right? I hope people use your auxiliary programs but I’ve always used Adobe. Why can’t Toast be your priority? I don’t want the other programs. Just a working Toast, why can’t ya’ll be kick &%$. This is the fourth straight purchase of Toast I’ve made since v6. What have you developers done with our money? Not very much!!! This “encoding” (Burning disc?) who knows.. has been stalled at 63% for 45 minutes. I could have encoded every asset in best quality with any other program! Anything! My phone could have done this already twice at least. This is constant, I’ve been trying to burn your menu out for days and get junk discs. They just load with a black screen and neither the intro video or menu catches. You have no documentation of this, no foresight into your own product. I don’t want a phone call I want this to work after decades of Toast iterations! It takes so long I thought to actually do a test DVD so I don’t waste any more BR / DVDDL media.. in looking up the issue again, I found this thread and wrote this, while I waited to create an iso / .toast. Dude why is this mislabeled encoding taking so long? Is this 1992? still here, still 63%.. might be this way forever! I’m lucky this is only making me miss out an opportunity to pass on a first birthday video (after all of 2020) to my family in person, guess there’s no deadline and I can mail something out later. Lets say I needed Toast 19 pro for work on production, with deadlines. I couldn’t rely on this. But rely on what anyway? Trash templates and limited execution. Not the forums, tech help or user guide can help here. The issue I am having is your aged and mismanaged product sitting rancid for purchase, Toast 19 Pro.
  2. Hey all, Just purchased Toast 19 Pro today on a really good discount. Everything is fine, and this is mainly a question if this is normal behavior. Under Big Sur 11.3.1, and Toast 19.4 When looking at video settings, the Flash Video Format is greyed out, at F4V. I don't use flash, but when trying my copy of 17.4 Pro in a Catalina VM, this option could be selected. I just wondered if was greyed out now, because flash has been discontinued, and there is no real use for it anymore. Usually I work with AVC or HEVC video, and not flash. I mainly want toast for blu-ray video support, as it's still the best option for the Mac as far as I've been able to find. If anyone can shed some light on this: would be appreciated. Thanks. By the way, since I just purchased 19 today, It's a clean install on Big Sur. I haven't used my copy of toast 17 since I used it on Mojave a couple years ago.

Toast - Blu-Ray Inaccurate File Sizes

I'm trying to burn 4-5gb .mov files (about 2 hrs long each) to 25gb blu-ray discs. At first, I put about 18gb of files onto one project and Toast showed remaining space. It encoded for hours, then gave me an error that the project didn't fit by a few megabytes... So I removed the files off the project one by one, until I had ONE file that was taking up 16gb on the disc. Why is Toast blowing up a 4gb file to 16gb? I thought a 4gb file should take up exactly 4gb of space on the disc.
  4. I'm having an issue where I get the "Could not complete because of MacOS error 1310" message when trying to burn DVD's or even save them as a disc image. This has been going on for about a year since upgrading to Toast 18 with no resolution from Corel/Roxio. I have a project file (.disc file) that I desperately need to have burned (or at least saved as a disc image so I can burn it through MacOS directly). Is there anyone who has a WORKING copy of Toast who would be willing to save my project as an image file (.toast or .iso) and send it back to me? WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT. THANKS!!!
  5. After months of doing all sorts of loops of my Toast 17 [then Toast 18] always miscalculated filesize of my vids, I finally made the key discovery. Unlike Toast 14, 17 and now 18 will not burn vids bigger than 10GB. Under Toast 14 my vids of 11.35GB fitted in on both standard DVD-R and Blu-Ray with room to spare - See attached from a screenshot using 14. Roxio has yet to respond to my question: does Toast 17 able to burn vids bigger than 10GB? Can anyone else test that?

    Creator NXT 6 VS Toast...

I am wondering if Creator NXT 6 has all of the same features as Toast does. The day may come where I have to use a Windows machine instead of a Mac, so I need to know how the programs compare in functionality. The main thing would be if Creator NXT 6 will let me remove extras, languages, and subtitles from Video_TS folders before burning discs. If anyone can tell me if they are the same or different, your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    bluetooth crashing toast

Curious question. If I try to connect to a Bluetooth device while burning a disc, Toast crashes. And then refuses to allow the user to eject the bad burned disc from the disc drive without doing a restart. It doesn't seem to have an issue if you start the Bluetooth device first, and then burn a disc. ( unless you have to reconnect ) Short of not using Bluetooth devices, any suggestions how to keep Toast from crashing?

Available Space On Dvd Is Incorrect

Help! I am trying to burn a large video file to a data disc, and when I create a new project Toast thinks that the available space on a blank DVD is only 116.3MB (the disc is 4.7GB). Here's what happened: Midway through burning a large file spanned across 3 DVDs, Toast crashed. When I re-opened the software and tried to burn the project again, it said that it would take the 11.8 GB project would take108 DVDs. I've attached screen shots of a new project as well as the project I am trying to burn. The problem is only with DVDs— CDs still come up as 703MB, so the project could be burned to 19 CDs or 108 DVDs. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, re-booted, restored my computer to the backup before the crash, everything I can think of. I'm on a Late 2011 Macbook Pro running OSX El Capitan 10.11.6, and I have the latest version of Toast Titanium 15. Any ideas? Ryan
  9. I have assiduously prepped hi rez photos for inclusion in a 16:9 template. the menu items are two videos, which look great, and a slideshow, which is driving me nuts. I think it has to do with Toast, because if I stick the photos (16:9, 1920x1080) on a thumb drive, directly into my LED TV, they look perfect, and fill the screen. But in the Toast slideshow, they have black bars above and below, and appear stretched. I am at the limit of my research. I think the photos are correctly prepared, but see no way to tinker with the slideshow. I should say, I am burning a DVD for playing on DVD players with TVs. I think I have chosen the right format and all, since the videos look perfect. Why would Toast squash/stretch my slides, though? One photo attached, shown from thumb drive, and Toast stretched version.

    Mystery New Mac Application

A few days ago, MacUpdate presented a half-price offer of a new Roxio product: Toast Express. I have used Toast Titanium 9 for many years, but since I have upgraded my Mac's operating system to Sierra I was interested in this Toast Express. I tried asking Roxio/Corel, but the advisor who answered my enquiry had never heard of Toast Express. That made me suspicious, of course, and I contacted MacUpdate, who got me some details and confirmed that Toast Express is a bona fide Roxio product. Since the price was so tempting, I took a chance on it and purchased and installed it. But I would still like some details: what are its limitations compared with the latest Toast Titanium? How does the quality of CDs burnt with Toast Express compare with those burnt by means of Toast Titanium? Etc. I have had to post in the General Chat forum because there is nothing for Toast Express. Likewise it seems almost impossible to find a way of asking for information on the Corel website. I should be very grateful for some information.

    Interface Error: 5

As soon as I go to burn from my MacBook Pro using Toast 14.1 and a PawTec external writer I get the following error: Interface Error: 5 The connection is not stable I've tried using a different cable and some other testing to see if it was a hardware thing. Testing other software over the last few months, I can burn directly from Final Cut, and iSkysoft iMedia, and I believe a CD from iTunes but I haven't gotten a single disc to burn with Toast. Any ideas??
  12. Hello, I am using Toast 14 on my Mac, OS X El Capitan, I have made a compilation of about 10 Video_TS files that I am trying to convert to a DVD-Video. The size at the bottom of the screen says I am at 4.15 GB, it is about 2 hours worth of content after I edited each video. When I try to burn to a DVD-Video, an error comes up and says you don't have enough storage for 14 GB, the DVD is only 4.38 GB. My question is... where s the program getting 14 GB from? I did a test with just 2 videos that were about 5 minutes each, and it burned great, except a lot of the raw footage that I edited out in Toast came on the DVD!! Is there a setting that is trying to put the raw, unedited version of each Video-TS file on my final DVD-Video? Thanks for your help!
  13. Hello Everyone, I've created a DVD file and burned it to a Verbatim dual layer disc, using Toast Titanium 14. It plays fine on both Mac and PC multiple players, but won't play on a home DVD player, e.g. Panasonic or JVC. Any pointers in the right direction would be gratefully received. Thanks very much, BizzyM.
  14. Bug Report: This has been an issue as far back as I can remember. It's in Toast 11 for sure maybe prior to that. I was hoping it would be corrected in Toast 14 but no dice. If the Toast team sees this report would you please add this to your bug list. Steps: 1. Setup a UDF Data disc (blu-ray HDMV in my case) and burn. 2. Upon completion Toast will update the size of the files to be burned, but at double the correct/original size. 3. You can't clear the miscalculation by removing the content and adding it again. You have to close Toast, restart the app and setup the disc again. Thank you,
  15. With Apple and Adobe apparently believing we've all stopped using DVD and Blu-Ray discs and put our trust 100% in white whispy nothingness, could Toast be in a great position to fill the market position held by the sadly departed Encore and DVD Studio? At the moment it would be very difficult to satisfy a client's corporate design requirements using Toast, but given the ability to accept Adobe Photoshop Layer documents (.psd) as background, or static and rollover buttons in custom Toast menus (like Encore) I think that this would make Toast attractive to a potentially much larger market. Anybody in Roxio's management team agree with this idea? Jack Wrigley

    Google Drive Stripping Data

I only briefly scoured the posts here, so I apologize if this topic has been mentioned before. Our department records, edits, and archives all concerts on campus. We decided to use Toast to export CD image files for each album, and back them up on Google Drive (education gives us unlimited space). However, once we download that file it can no longer be opened by toast - "is an unsupported file type". We're able to mount the image, but it gives us a single track with all the data rather than the multiple tracks associated with the CD. Upgrading to Toast 12 didn't solve the problem, so we did some more research. It seems that when Google Drive uploads the SD2F files it strips away the data for track names, sample rate, bit depth, and length. Toast opens the file expecting to see this data, and promptly sh**s itself when it's missing. Has anyone had this problem? We've tested it with multiple files with the same outcome. I'd be happy to supply more information if needed.

  19. Hello. I need some help with Toast 12 Titanium .. How do I burn a *lossless* data blu-ray disc? I've gone through all the preferences possible, emptied my "Trash", repaired disk permissions, restarted my computer.. everything.. but when I add a folder to the window, it calculates the folder as being a few gigabytes smaller than the original.. I don't see an option anywhere that is allowing me to select render-quality or to avoid using "compression".. Even in the "Options" tab (right next to the "Media" tab) there is no option for compression/no compression.. I've also tried compressing my original data into .zip folder and then adding it to Toast, which still ended up importing a filesize smaller than that of the original.. I am looking to back up very valuable information and need to make sure that every single file is exactly as they were originally (aka no compression whatsoever).. Can anybody help me in how I can go about making an *exact/flawless/no compression* blu-ray data disk in Toast 12 Titanium? Thank you so much!

    Installing Toast 11 Blue-Ray Plugin

I'm looking to burn a blue-ray disc, and I have Toast Titanium 11, but the only problem was I needed to buy the plugin. I purchased the $20 plugin. It is a .app and won't install into the plugin. How can I install it? Is there another step I am missing in between opening up toast and downloading the plugin?

    Toast 11.2 Audio Preview Bug

I have just upgraded to Mavericks 10.9.1 and installed the Toast 11.2 (3175) update. When I use the media browser I've noticed that when you preview audio files they will not play. In Toast 11.1 you got a ql manager window pop up and the audio played. In Toast 11.2 a small window pops up but it is blank and no audio plays. I have noticed that video files play okay. I have included a screenshot of what happens. I have tested 11.2 on a clean install of Mavericks 10.9.1 and Mountain Lion 10.8.5 and the same thing happened. I was just wondering if anyone else was having the same problem. I still have the 11.1 (1067) update on my computer. I was wondering if I installed this would it downgrade 11.2 to 11.1 okay or would it lead to problems. I also have the 11.1 application on another computer. If I moved the 11.2 one on Mavericks to trash and installed that would that work better. Many thanks for your help.
  23. I recently bought Toast 11 Titanium and every time I open it now it tells me there's an update. I click to download the update but then when it tries to load it tells me the signature is corrupted and improper? What does that mean, and why won't it let me update -- I paid for a full version of Toast 11 and I should get my money's worth. Anyone have this same problem and know of a solution? I tried contacting Roxio, but no response from them. Even paid the $9 for a support ticket but no reply in a week. Thanks! Bryan

Quality Loss When Burning Xvid To Dvd !

I have an XVID Movie which I play (through my laptop) on to my LARGE Plasma TV and the picture is great !!! as soon as I burn that xvid to DVD (using Toast 11.2) the quality of the Movie drops by about 30% !!! ALSO: the size of the movie file INCREASES about three-times the size !!! how is this even possible ?? The file size increases three-fold, and the quality drops by about 30% !!! - Please don't tell me about xvid being a low quality codec because I already have said that I play the movie from my computer onto my LARGE SCREEN PLASMA TV.. and the quality is just fine. but its a hassle to bring my laptop to the TV every time. the quality drops from Toasts bad quality conversion process, I guess. I want to know how I can improve the quality of Toast DVD burning. or, is there better software out there ? Thanks
