    Blu Ray Burning

I bought Toast 12 thinking I could burn blu ray from my macbook pro. Find out you need a plug in for more $$ to burn blue rays. Fine. Got the plug in. I imported a iMovie mp4 file on my mac to Toast. Organize the menus screen, which seems a bit unsophisticated. I have been using Nero on my HP for years. It is wonky compared with iMovie editing, but the options for main menu, chapters, is better than Toast. Unless I am missing something from the editing options area? Couple of things: It always says my file is NTSC coded and do I want to change to PALS. I looked it up and its seems i want NTSC since i live in US? Dont know if this is contributing to ultimate burn failure. Which do I choose? It gets through to 100 percent completion, 1-2 hours, and it says "could not record the disc because there are too many files open" I thought this referred to other programs on MY computer open, but have retried burn with a regular def DVD with all programs closed and still no dice. Any suggestions?
  2. I have tried burning an iMovie that I saved onto the desktop on my Mac. The first copy came out fine, but when I went to do a second copy (yes, I am THAT mother that fears one will stop working and then those memories will be lost forever), I have gone through 5 discs with the following error message: "The drive reported an error: Sense Key = ILLEGAL REQUEST, Sense Code = 0x21, 0x02. BUFFER UNDERRUN." I am new to using this, and am very frustrated. What am I doing wrong? How do I get this to work? Also, I did restart the computer and the program in between. I am using an Apple SuperDrive to burn it. Please help!!!
  3. I installed Toast 12 Titanium yesterday. I planned on burning a simple Blu-ray Disc Video for an event coming up in a couple of weeks and I hope I can resolve it by then. 1. I keep getting Mac OS error - 50. At random times. Sometimes before I encode, sometimes after encoding and the burn is about to begin. This happens with just creating and burning, or writing a disc image and using the image to burn a disc. I've zapped the pram several times, repaired disc permissions, erased plist and preference files and re-installed with no change. Sometimes it does work however, but it doesn't work right after trying one of the above. 2. When I am able to burn a disc, it won't play in either my Sony Set-top blu-ray player or my PS3's blu-ray player. The clock starts 00:00:00:00 but never advances. I've tried both Blu-ray Video burned onto BD-Rs and High Definition DVD-VIdeo burned onto DVD-Rs. I tried not reencoding, always reencoding, MPEG-4 and MPEG-2, PCM Audio and Dolby Digital, no menu, a menu. Same results. Ive spent at least 8-9 hours trouble shooting this and searching the internet and Roxio forums, but nothing seems to match my issues. Any advice from some Toast experts out there? I'd really appreciate it. -- 27" iMac mid-2011, 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 (quad core), 16GB RAM, 2TB HDD, Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.2, External Blu-Ray Burner type: Mashita BD-MLT UJ260AF USB2.0, Internal Super Drive type: Optiarc DVD RW AD-5680H

    Standard Dvd Pixilation

Hi, I just got Toast 12 and very disappointed in the DVD quality on standard disk burns. I've looked and looked at my settings to figure out what's wrong. I'm exporting a 30 minute video in H.264 and that file of 14 gb goes to 2.5 gb in Toast and burns a horrible quality disk. I've changed settings to progressive, best, and am now exporting an M2v straight from Premiere Pro. I don't know what else to do and the client is expecting quality. I'm almost sorry I went with Toast Anyone know how to help? -Peter

Toast 12 Data And Or Photo

Getting ready to burn my 1st Blu-ray disc. I am using Toast 12 Titanium on my Mac with Yosemite 10.10.1. I have approximately 10GB of material consisting of (3) versions of 2200 old family pictures in an iPhoto library that have been edited, same pictures un-edited versions and the original JPEG scans. I want to make the discs readable for both PC & Mac. It’s a present for the grand kids. Thinking they will be able to transfer it in the future when there is a new media available. *Do I make a photo disc and a data disc for them to be able to view the pictures on their PC machines and Blu-ray players? *Should it be done on an M disc for permanent archival purposes? *Also getting ready to buy compatible and appropriate Blu-ray burner for this project any suggestions? Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated thanx
  7. I recently purchased Toast 12 Titanium. After playing with it a little I decided it couldn't do what I wanted it to do, so I was intending to get a refund. Well, it wouldn't do what I wanted, but needed to convert video formats that Toast should be able to convert. In the process, I realized part of my previous issue with the software was that my son had downloaded the program and didn't download everything. So....I had deleted it, but when I changed my mind and re-installed the software, it won't work. Every time I open it, it unexpectedly quits. Sometimes it stays on until I try to actually use the program and sometimes as soon as it opens. I'm thinking that it's corrupted, but don't know how to clean it up or uninstall/reinstall correctly. I would appreciate any help!!!! Thank you in advance.

    Burned Dvd Is "flickery"

So I have a large (12G) .mov file that I am trying to burn onto a DVD to be played in a PS3. I go through Toast and get it all set up, Toast burns the DVD, and when I play it, it's all "flickery" and seems to jump, like skipping frames or something. Any thoughts? I have tried playing the DVD on another player with the same problems so I know it's not the PS3.

    Toast 12

Wouldn't it be nice if Roxio came out with Toast 12 & the software actually allowed a dvd to burn faster than 4x? Or better yet, just update Toast 11 to allow it to work to its potential.
