  1. I recently attempted to use Toast 15 to covert a PAL video file to NTSC. I seem to remember that in an older version of Toast, when this was tried, Toast would give you alert asking if you really wanted to do this. However in Toast 15, I did not receive an alert. Toast just output the video file matching the source (PAL) even though I had selected NTSC in the preferences. Does Toast no longer do this type of conversion? (I found nothing about it in the manual). If Toast does not do this type of conversion, are there any recommendations on software that does? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
  2. Toast 11 won't play videos I burn. I started with a file captured with Jaksta: filename.mp4.flv. Toast codified the file after a long time spent, burned the disk (set for Video playable on MAC or WINDOWS) but the burned disk simply would not play. It showed a title, but the "forward" control would not convince it to go forward in Mac. I then used Jaksta converter to the only setting I found for the purpose of using the DVD in a Mac, Win or DVD player. It came out as filename.mp4-appletv.mp4. I studied all the options I found in Jaksta as well as Toast 11, but what I relate above was the best I could find. Why won't my disks play video? iMAC (intel, 2007 with SSD), Mavericks, 8 GB RAM. Thanks in advance.
  3. Using Creator NXT, is there a way to convert an FLV video to MP4, with source and destination both being the hard drive? Vide Editing (advanced) doesn't seem to "see" FLV files, and using Copy and Convert, I can't find MP4 as a conversion choice. (I just started using the software, so forgive me if I'm missing something obvious.)
  4. Hi! I have tried to import a DVD into my iMac by converting via Toast from a video_TS folder and also directly fro a DVD. I am trying to edit it with Final Cut ProX but the problem is that each time I try it creates a file that is only 20 minutes long and the original DVD is 53 minute long. I created about 6 different files today and they all did this. I tried saving it into an MP4 format and one other format but it didn't change the results. I had been trying to create the "best" quality I could. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Thanks!
  5. I have an AVI movie file that I want to convert to a M4V file. The conversion seem to complete but when playing the file there is no audio. When loading the AVI in to Toast I noticed that the AU Filter button is no enabled and also playing the video from within the application produces no sound at all. I have used Elgato Turbo 264 HD application which converts the file without the audio issue. I then used ffmeg to convert the file to mp3 and mov files and both worked without any glitches. So is the an underlaying problem with Toast that affects conversion from AVI or any other files for that matter?
  6. Why when I try to convert a computer based .mov file to an mp4 file, there is no way to select the computer as a "device", Am I missing somthing... I don't want to convert the mov to a cell phone tablet, dvd, etc, just convert the mov file to an mp4 Cheers
  7. I have an XVID Movie which I play (through my laptop) on to my LARGE Plasma TV and the picture is great !!! as soon as I burn that xvid to DVD (using Toast 11.2) the quality of the Movie drops by about 30% !!! ALSO: the size of the movie file INCREASES about three-times the size !!! how is this even possible ?? The file size increases three-fold, and the quality drops by about 30% !!! - Please don't tell me about xvid being a low quality codec because I already have said that I play the movie from my computer onto my LARGE SCREEN PLASMA TV.. and the quality is just fine. but its a hassle to bring my laptop to the TV every time. the quality drops from Toasts bad quality conversion process, I guess. I want to know how I can improve the quality of Toast DVD burning. or, is there better software out there ? Thanks
  8. I'm experiencing some problems. A few months ago I posted some video's to test my video quality of my Roxio game Capture HD Pro to make it work in 1080i. It worked and I was excited to post allot more video's on Youtube. Then I put the capture card away since I didn't have time for it. Then today I reopened it because I wanted to make sure if I still remember how it works and everything. I captured in 1080i on 15000 Kbps. When I was done editing it I exported it in a wma file. When I logged into my youtube account and pressed upload the video couldn't be uploaded because it failed to process due to the fact the video wasn't in the right format. It was in Dmsm which the default file. I don't know why it didn't work I tried many things to make it work. The settings were exactly the same I had from a few months ago when it uploaded onto youtube with no problem. I tried to change the settings and the format I was exporting it. I tried different browsers like internet explorer, chrome, firefox, to see if it would work on them and I also tried uploading the video's to different accounts. Then I uninstalled and installed my Roxio game capture card hd pro program again and it STILL DIDN'T WORK!!!!. I give up if this is the type of problems i'm having after spending 120 dollars on this thing then it is a complete waste of money and I want my money back. Please help.
  9. Hi I've got some home videos recorded from my Sony Handycam that I wanted to convert from the Video_TS folder so that I can edit the videos in iMovie or any other editing software. I've tried using Toast and Handbrake etc but I'm not getting the same quality as the original source. The videos are of sporting action with a ball moving at high speeds, which plays fine with the original Video_TS files but when I convert it doesn't result in the same smooth movement of the ball as it did in the original and is a little bit patchy. The conversion is decent but not quite good enough. Would appreciate any help with the issue and is there any way I can convert those videos for editing with perfect quality? Thanks
  10. When I convert a video file in Toast 11.1 (Mac) it can only manage the first 30 seconds. It doesn't matter what the video is, or what format I try to convert it to; it pretends to complete to 100%, and gives me the assuring 'ping', but the resulting video is only 30 seconds long. The latest file I tried is only 5 minutes long, to convert from MP4 to WMV, so it shouldn't be a big deal. Why am I trying to convert this file? I want to import it into MS PowerPoint, and MP4s don't show up properly, whereas WMVs do. What's going on here?
