  1. I originally posted this in the forum topic: http://forums.suppor...-creating-dvds/ But I think it is best to start a new topic on the subject of Creating and Saving custom menu styles in MyDVD because I'd like to think I'm not the only one who has struggled with this. So here it goes. I have been doing a lot of work recently with custom menus for some DVD projects in NXT. Sknis has a good video on the subject at: Also there are some good notes at: http://forums.suppor...ger-than-30sec/ The demonstration in the video is somewhat dated, but still relevant for creating one-off custom menus that you do not need to use again. If you follow this process by editing the original (default) menu in VideoWave, then follow the instructions from "How to create a custom menu longer than 30sec": Note the total LENGTH Click BACK TO MyDVD button above the preview Select VIEW / SETTINGS Make sure MOTION MENU is checked if you have MPG background or still images with music For duration, type in the total length that you had in the Movie Edit View This process will create a valid DVD project, but does not save the custom menu for reuse. When I was back In the Menu Edit View I followed the instructions in the MyDVD Help file to Create a Custom Menu Style. I have attached a copy of the relevant page to this post. It says to select File > Save as Menu Style and the Custom Menu Style dialog box opens. You are to select a menu in the Main Menu box and a menu in the Chapter Menu box. But the dialog box did not show any menu selections just previews of my menus: So I input a style name and clicked OK. By searching my hard drive, I discovered NXT created my custom menu (or so I thought) in the <User>\AppData\Roaming\Roxio\DVD\4x3\Themes folder. It created four files: Theme.dmsd, Theme_chapm.png, Theme_mainm.png, and Theme_thmbn.png However, when I opened a new MyDVD project and selected Change Menu Style, the thumbnail of my custom menu was displayed in the list, but when I selected it to apply to my new project, the background of the main menu was blank (black). So after a lot of trial and error, I found the following method works to create and SAVE a custom menu style: Open MyDVD Select a menu style as a starting point (perhaps one with button styles you like – although button styles can also be changed. If you want to change the default audio, Select MENU and choose REMOVE MENU AUDIO In the Task Pane/Edit Area, Select Change Menu Background, browse to a file you want to use as the background and select it. If you want to add custom audio, in the Task Pane/Edit Area, Select Change Menu Audio, browse to an audio file and select it. Select VIEW / SETTINGS. Make sure MOTION MENU is checked if you have MPG background or still images with music. Set the Duration time to a value that is compatible with your choices for background and audio. Select FILE/Save As Menu Style and in the Custom Menu Style dialog box, just type in a Style Name and Click OK. Remember the Custom Style will be saved in the <User>\AppData\Roaming\Roxio\DVD\4x3\Themes folder. This has some implications if you want to make your DVD projects portable to another computer. As long as you have an identical User Name on the multiple computers you can move the Themes folder from one computer to another. I also store my custom audio and background files in the …\Roaming\Roxio folder so my custom menus will find the required files. At this point, you can save the MyDVD project and continue to work on it at a later time or you can continue by adding movies, changing button styles, etc. Now when I opened a new MyDVD project and selected Change Menu Style, the thumbnail of my custom menu was displayed in the list, and when I selected it, the background of the main menu was as I had saved it and I could apply it to my project. Well, I think that is enough rambling for now. I hope this information is helpful and will stimulate some conversation on the creation and retention of custom menu styles in MyDVD. 2. After I updated my graphics card I used 'My Dvd' and found that a few of the selections in 'Change Menu Style' have been corrupted. The graphics are either in washed out color or blacked out. The music to go along with them still plays. Most of them are still in tact. About 5 or 6 of the selections are corrupted. What can I do to fix it? Thanks, Win 7 Home Prem, 64bit AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series

    Roxio Creator Nxt

I'm never sure where to ask my Roxio questions. If I'm in the wrong place, please redirect me. I just downloaded Roxio Creator NXT, having just uninstalled Roxio Creator 9 Ultimate. I see there are only 6 Menu Styles in NXT, whereas Creator 9 Ultimate had many more. I can't seem to find more...have I overlooked something? If not, is there someplace where I can find or download more Menu Styles?
