I have numerous Hi 8 digital tapes of my children growing up that are fading over the years. I want to preserve them on DVDs so I'm bringing them into iMovie using firewire and trying to use Roxio Toast 11 Pro to add chapters and burn them to DVD. I tried the latest iMovie 10.0.2 but had troubles so I tried the iMovie 9.0.9 prior version and dragged the compiled "events" into Toast 11 Pro to add chapters & burn. All seemed like it went smoothly until I started to notice the finished DVDs had missing events at the end. I'd burn 3 copies and all cut off events at different places but no DVDs were complete. Next step... I turned the iMovie "events" into iMovie "projects" then burned them to a large format movie and dragged the movie into Roxio Toast 11 Pro, added chapters and burned DVDs. This seems to work the best but the process takes multiple hours for each Hi 8 digital tape and I'm only using the standard movie option because my earlier movies weren't recorded in HD and I'm scared to mess around with Blue Ray because I know little to nothing about it. I work full time and have 3 young teenagers that are in everything so my head is ready to explode. Can ANYONE tell me if there is a faster way that will work while maintaining the quality I've managed to have?? If I can cut a few steps I can save weeks of work but I can not risk having movies cut off at the end when there is no warning or indication this may happen. My parents are gone and my last test cut off the day they saw my first child take her first steps. I can't risk losing those events to share with my children. Please help if you can before I get to far doing what I found works the best using iMovie 9.0.9, creating "large" format movies from projects, adding chapters using Toast 11 pro and burning standard format DVDs using DVD-R recordable discs.

I'm super frustrated. Every single time I launch Toast 11 I have to go through the Setup Assistant. And what's worse, it doesn't recognize that I've added the HD/BD plug-in even after validating it with the serial number. I uninstalled and tried putting back Toast 10, which was working fine before and now the same thing is happening. Anyone know why this is happening? Not sure if it's even a Toast issue, might be Apple's. I couldn't find a single thread about this problem. I'm running OSX 10.8.3 on an iMac. 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7. Software: OS X 10.8.3 (12D78) Thanks!

I am still a novice with video and am having a new problem I have never encountered. I recently downloaded the Toast 11 HD and Blu-ray plugin so that I could use regular DVDs to record HD video. After i burned the DVD and played it back, I noticed the sound was not synced with the movements of the individual's mouth. I did not record the sound and video seperately. I used an omni directional lavalier microphone that I hooked directly to my camera. On the recording, the sound is excellent as is the picture, just not synced. I can't find anything online about correct audio settings for this kind of situation so I would appreciate any help anyone might be able to offer. Regards, Michael

I Can't See Any Of My Itunes Files In Toast 11 Media Browser
LordArthur posted a question in Toast 11
Hi, I hope somebody can help me, I can't see any of my iTunes files in Toast 11 Pro Media Browser. I have no problem seeing videos from iMovies and photos. I am using an iMac 27-inch, Late 2012 with OS X 10.8.3 Any ideas, please? Thanks! -
I've searched all over the place on Toast 11 Pro, but I'm unable to find the option for red book/cdda/cd-da, any of those really as they're all the same thing from what I'm told. I've just finished mixing and mastering my first album and am really to send it off to have it pressed, and I just wanted to make sure all the bases are covered. I'd really appreciate some info on how to burn for that. Thank you, Jon.
