  1. Hello All, I need a little help. When I import from VHS (Roxio Video Capture) it does not keep it at 4.3, instead it stretches it to full screen. I didn't realize it until I burned it to DVD (My DVD)and it looked TERRIBLE. Is there a way to import and keep it exactly how it looks on the VHS? I checked all settings and it looks like you can only choose low, medium, high. I used high. Thank you all in advance! Mike

  3. Is there a Linux version of the VHS to DVD software? If not, then will the software work under WINE?
  4. Hello. Just had to rebuild my PC and I have lost my Roxio VHS to DVD Software Disk. Where can I find a download of this software on the Roxio site? Thanks- B
  5. I want to copy old VHS tapes to USB or portable hard disc drive. Is it possible with this Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3 product I purchased and if so how do I go about doing this?
  6. I am using Roxio 2012 Pro on Windows 7. I am also using the Roxio USB adapter that came with the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD software. I like Roxio products. When capturing the video on a resolution other than AVI, it looks good on the preview screen. It looks like the original video. When I play back the video, without editing, it is pixelated where there is action. Is AVI the only capture option that is stable? Is there a capture option or setting that I missed? It would be nice to be able to capture more than 19 or so minutes that my 4g's allow on the AVI setting. What can I do?
  7. Hello, I started asking for help over 12 months ago unfortunately I have lost my records of the 12 or so posts. I am now in a position to resume editing/converting my VHS tapes. The ones I have "converted" have different properties, presumably because I was experimenting with various settings. My health is good now so is there a way for me to locate those previous posts so that I can continue with the conversions. As an aside - when I reinstalled Roxio Easy VHS To DVD 3 Plus, I cannot seem to be able to "locate" the compression setting of H.264, does this mean I have to download anything to facilitate the H.264 setting selection. Thank you in anticipation,
  8. I am not very sharp re computers, but thought hey I can do this. I have downloaded software 10.3 Roxio & am trying to put my VHS home tapes onto my Macbook pro. All i see is a green screen-audio o.k. though, I think. Help!
  9. Hi-- My question is: Can I copy home movie DVDs with my Creator DE10.3? Or must I upgrade to another Creator? Thanks for help.
  10. I've copied about 30 VHS tapes so far with the Roxio VHS to DVD 3 Plus software to my computer without any problems. Suddenly, I'm having an issue with one of the tapes. When recording, the software stops part way through even though there is a lot more video on the tape. I am using a windows 7 computer hooked up to a VCR through the cables supplied with the Roxio software. The VCR keeps playing, but the software stops as if the video were finished. I've tried several times and the software stops at different spots in the video as seen below: 46 minutes 11 minutes 23 minutes Admittedly the tape has lots of stops and starts (clips) through out the length of the video. Is there a way to force the software to keep recording? I tried setting the video duration to 2 hours, but had the same results.
  11. Tried to install easy vhs to dvd (first version). The first installation froze half way through and the second attempt now says that I don't meet minimum requirements (which I do). Does Roxio have any support other than forums? this sucks
  12. I bought this product last week. The reason is we have several hundred VHS movies we bought over the years - movies that are slowly deteriorating on the shelves. My plan was to digitalis them, & store on my computer. At first this worked perfectly and I was able to save a couple of dozen on the computer and can watch them on AppleTV. Then something happened without me noticing. The digitizing cut off after 64 minutes. Why is this happening and how can I rectify this?
  13. I have both the Roxio Video Capture USB (UB315-E Ver3) and the Pinnacle Systems GmbH (710-USB Rev:1.0). Does anyone have any inputs on which one provides the higher quality VHS tape to digital conversion? I’m running Roxio Creator NXT Pro 2 in the Windows 8.1 environment for software. Also, rather than using either of these capture devices, are there any recommendations for the highest quality VHS video capture device? Thanks!
  14. Hi there I have used Roxio 2012 to create a DVD for DVD PAL Playback. I selected the option DVD in the movie creator, and then inserted various movie files into my project, with menus. (files inserted are mpeg2 format which have been captured from VHS) Once the movie project is burned to DVD-R disk, the movie plays back on one of my DVD players/tv's with sound and all is in order, however if I try to play the disk on my 3 other dvd players / tv's, there is sound for the "menu", but my movie files have no sound at all? What could be the reason for this? The dvd player where the sound does play, is connected directly to an old television set, whereas the DVD player where there is no sound is connected to a newer lcd television, which plays its sound through a hi-fi.. could this somehow affect sound playback? Any advise would be greatly appreciated, Thank you kindly Mel
  15. No audio received by Roxio. Tried two different VCRs. Video is fine. Using the Yellow/White/Red cables. Checked connections. Cables work fine on other equipment. Tried both "Composite" and "S-Video" for input source. Any suggestions? thx
  16. Hi there When I capture from my VHS machine (VCR) - with my settings on PAL - B (or any PAL mode), the picture being captured "jumps" and gets "stuck" a bit every few seconds, like a delay of sorts. At first I thought it may be the video machine, however if I change the settings to NTSC, the picture no longer jumps, and is extremely clear. The problem with using NTSC though, is that it then makes the picture black and white? PAL then returns it to color, but then i have the "jumping" problem. What could cause this? How can I stop my picture / video from jumping? thank you
  17. Can I use the VHS to DVD 3 software to transfer a vhs tape to my hard drive or an external hard drive connected via a usb? If so, How?
  18. Whenever I convert a vhs tape, there are some parts of the video where the audio sounds to deep in pitch. For example, if someone was talking on the video there voice sounds deeper for some reason. PLEASE HELP! I am using roxio creator 2011.
  19. hi, i'm new to the forum and to capturing video. I've been having a problem with my vhs to dvd 3 program. I have it installed and connected. I can see the video and hear it when I play the vhs...but when I go to record it it crashes...I hear it for a couple of seconds, the screen goes black then to green then nothing...when I stop recording it it doesn't let me do anything else. what i have for specs is: windows 7 home premium, processor: amd Athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 5200+ 2.60ghz, RAM 3.00 GB, System type: 64-bit...i'm not sure if i have a graphics card or not. i also checked the device manager and i have both drivers installed....anyways i would appreciate any help...it's been a frustrating experience.
  20. I just got Toast a few days ago, and the first thing I'm doing is burning dvds of .mov files I've transferred to my computer from old VHS tapes and Hi8 tapes. As I'm looking over the footage to edit/ add chapters and such in Toast, I'm noticing that the quality of the video is reduced (and remains this way when burn to a dvd). There are horizontal lines that appear (apparently in conjunction with movement) and create a distorted look to the footage. Here are two examples: I'm concerned because this seems to be consistent with all the footage I've imported (all this VHS/Hi8 footage was imported through a program called Ezcap, using an RCA to USB cable). Also I wanted to note that I don't have these issues when playing back the footage on their original machines (VHS/videocamera), in any programs (such as QuickTime) or anywhere else (one or two clips have been uploaded to YouTube and don't display these imperfections) Can anyone please help me identify what the cause of these imperfections may be, and what I can do to get rid of them when I burn to dvd?
  21. I am confused about what I should have received with my purchase of the Easy VHS to DVD for Mac. Does anyone have information to clarify any of the following issues? What I received in the package does appear to match what is described in the reviews or on the ROXIO web page. I received: 1 capture device 1 adapter for Video/Audio connections 1 USB Extension Cable 1 CD with only two items: the Roxio Video Capture.app and its Documentation. The web page states that Roxio Easy VHS to DVD for Mac Contents: Installation CD, including Easy VHS to DVD Capture software Roxio® Toast® 9 Basic disc burning software [*]Roxio Video Capture USB hardware USB extension cable Video Inputs: Composite video (RCA) and S-Video (mini-DIN) Audio Inputs: Stereo audio (RCA) First, should Toast Basic have been included? The package does NOT list Toast Basic as part of the contents. But the ROXIO web page does, as noted above. Second, the version of the Roxio Video Capture app I received is v2.0.1, dated 04 Oct 2012. The "single" screen of this app looks nothing like the "multiple" screen shots advertised on the ROXIO web page for this product. The reviews appear to only discuss versions such as v1.0.3 for the Mac. In addition, the ROXIO web page only provides an update to v1.0.5 for download. If v2.0.1 is the current version, why isn't there an update to v2.0.1? Third, the documentation included appears to match the app's single screen for the video capture. But then the documentation describes using a "Preview" and "Trim" function, plus a "Save and Send" function. None of these functions are available on any buttons or menus within the Roxio Video Capture.app (v2.0.1) as far as I can find. I am expecting a replacement package from Amazon.com because of these issues. But if the replacement is the same as the first package, how do I purchase the correct package? Or is there a better choice? One alternative is to purchase Toast 11 Titanium or Pro. But it is not clear to me if these packages contain the Capture Device and cables. Thanks Frank
  22. I bought the video capture USB device, brought it home, installed the correct drivers, then I plugged the device in. I plugged up the VCR to the device and puled up VLC and configured it correctly and it worked. It continued working for several days, then stopped. Now when I do the above, I only get sound but I do not get video. I have tried everything from trying new USB ports to uninstalling the drivers and programs and doing a fresh install, but even that doesn't work. I still get no video but I get sound. I have tried the device on other computers and they all work correctly. By this time I had already searched every inch of the Roxio website knowledge base, my problem exists nowhere on the internet that I have seen. Similar problems exist but they all have solutions that don't matter to my device. Although I have tried them. I have tried for days to get ahold of someone in tech support from Roxio, but each time I can't. I was wondering if it was the USB device, but it's not since it works on other computers. I wondered if it's my computer, which I don't know Windows 7 well enough to figure that out yet but it seems fine. All this proves that anything in the knowledge base won't fix my problem. If someone could help me with this, I'll provide any information you like to help you understand this problem. Thank you anyone who replies.
  23. So i purchased the VHS to DVD 3 plus from Best Buy. I opened it up, everything seemed fine. I go to register my product via the disc and it says Product not validated, could not validate product key, please try again. So after i type it in correctly about 10 times i give up. I register it on the forums and it recognizes the code, and what it is. I really don't understand what's going on?
  24. Running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 I can't seem to get my Roxio Easy VHS to DVD adapter to be recognized. Device Manager has no idea what it is and I've tried many different times to install drivers for it, but using the program just shows me either my Webcam or the guide for plugging in my connections. I used to use this ages ago on another Windows 7 x64 install...not sure what's up with it now.
  25. My dad recently purchased Easy Roxio's Video Capture, when I was using the program to record everything worked great. I want to know when the videos that have been recorded move to iMovie on MAC all the videos except for two out of fourteen videos actually work the way they're suppose to. Here's the list of problems I have encountered: 1. Out of sync audio 2. No audio although there's still video 3. The sound whistles (this could be because of an old recording and old system but I'm putting it down anyway) I have experienced some video corruption but that's because it's and old system. I'm first recording everything from my parents Video 8 player first and then going into VHS however I have not been able to solve this problem. I'm not very computer savvy so forgive me if I don't understand what's wrong.
