Medium Error Messages When Burning (Failed To Burn_

have wasted 2 fresh dvds trying to burn 4.34GB of mixed-data.....getting medium-error messages.

one folder contains photos only and there are maybe ten f4v's in the other.

this would seem like a fairly simple task for toast 12....any suggestions?

It could be a problem with the brand of discs. Try a different brand such as Verbatim. If this is a data burn try the Mac's disc burning feature in the Finder to see if it also has a problem. You also might try chhosing Save as disc image from Toast's File menu and then burning the resulting .toast file using the Image File setting in the Toast Copy window.

my son uses the kodak discs with no problem for his back-ups....but i'll try your suggestion thanks DG. we're up to about 5 failed-burns at this point...that's a lot of time to wait just to find out you got zero-results to show for!

I just got Toast 12 and haven't burned any discs as yet. I know Toast 11.2 has given me grief with burning multiple discs on my external disc burner but not any trouble with the first burn. No problems with the internal disc drive, though. Something else to try is to choose a burn speed other than Best. Toast burns slower than paint dries but actually telling it to burn slow might help.
