Software Keeps Crashing, Please Help

Question

I just got the roxio game capture HD and I have connected it to my PS4, when I try to capture on my PC then when I open up the program my whole entire PC screen goes completely black. I have tried everything and it is becoming stressful as I have spent a lot of money on this please help me I dont know what to do.

Do you have the latest updates for the PS4 (HERE) ~ Required if you want to capture ;)

 

With the RGC Device unplugged, what happens when you open Capture?

 

With the RGC plugged in but NOT connected to anything, what happens?

Hello Sir,

 

I recently purchased the HD Roxio game capture. I was excited at first when it arrived but I have spent well over 8 hours trying to set it up. I have a HDMI cable going into my TV and that connects to the output on the roxio and I have a HDMI cable connected to my PS4 and then connected into the input of the roxio. http://i.gyazo.com/8d1d1a0ebe0958ba0a5a1406dd028d19.png <-- Screenshot

 

basically if I lower the quality I get some sort of dull low quality image from my PS4 but nothing nearly worth recording.

 

Could you please help me because I was so excited to use it?

I deleted a few of your extra posts ;)

 

What your screen cap tells is that you have 'No Signal' in red!

 

That means the software is installed OK and recognizes the RGC Device.

 

BUT there is NO valid signal reaching the RGC :huh:

 

The PS4 is a bit new but I suspect you can still set the Output manually for HDMI on it. Other users have noted that if set to Auto Sense it never understands what the RGC is.

 

You should also make sure you have the latest updates, HERE, so you can capture!

 

You can also test by hooking up a DVD or BD Player to the RGC to confirm all is well there.

Thank you for the reply, I have honestly been waiting for a reply from you especially for awhile now. Im afraid nothing you said really helps the RGC itself is blue and the HDMI button is lightened up and the YPbPr is not. This may suggest that it knows it is connected to the HDMI. I just dont know what to do from here on out I have saved up all my money to use this and I cant get it working please would you help sir?

Did you apply the PS4 update (as suggested in Post 5 by Jim, also did you try another source (other than your PS4) like a DVD/BD player. You have to prove that your PS4 is putting out a valid signal.

I am playing online on the PS4 as we speak I am currently running the newest version. I do not have a DVD player available

Can you not borrow a DVD player (with HDMI output) from a friend or neighbor, it will only take a few minutes to connect it to the Roxio Capture card input, This is the quickest way to see if the Roxio unit works ok.

 

Did you at any time get a picture on your TV?.

And unless you tell us exactly what you've done as far as the suggestions, and what has happened, we don't know what direction to go from there.

I have tried everything. Even the repairing disc method ive done it all if I lower the quality on the software I get a very dull and out of proportion image of my PS4 so there is some sort of connection but the quality and connection isnt fully linked clearly because I still have the "No Signal" error

Hello,

 

After some time I found that I can finally get a Ready status and a preview on my Roxio software were I can see my PS4.

 

I can only see a preview if I lower the quality :

But when I try to capture gameplay using the "Start Capture" Button I get this software crash found here:

Can anyone help me with this situation I am finally getting so close to setting this up but however there seems to be so many problems. I have tried repairing the software aswell with my anti-virus and firewalls off etc.
