No Audio After Splitting A Video Clip

I am using video wave from Creator 2012 pro on windows p8.1. I can take a clip, edit it and export it and then play it back with no problem. However, when I split the same clip it plays fine in videowave but after I export it I lose the audio from the point where the split was made.

 

Any suggestions on what could be the issue?
