Roxio Easy Cd And Dvd Creator

Question

I loaded Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator. When my Windows 7 Professional laptop computer boots I get an error message stating "Driver instability error . . . Windows has disabled a driver . . . contact you software manufacturer." Is there any Registry Edit or Patch that can applied so that I don't receive this error message? Thanks Russell6869

You failed to say which version of Easy CD & DVD Creator you installed.

Is it version 9? The one which installs Direct CD?

You can tell which version you have if you run the suite, and then go up the top to Help > About this software.

Brendon

My link to the Win 7 Compatible Products does not work???

However, as I recall you need at least a Version 10.xxx to work with Win 7 -_-

Jim, query the KnowledgeBase for Win7 [without quotes]

Russell,

It's the Drag to Disc application which is causing the problem. Windows 7 doesn't like the 9.0.554 DLA driver that Drag to Disc uses. Just uninstall that application. I have Easy Media Creator 9 working happily in Windows 7 without Drag to Disc.

I can't remember if 9.0.554 has an uninstall entry for Drag to Disc in Control Panel. I think it does. I have to go out right now, but I'll run it when I get back in case you need further advice.

Regards,

Brendon

Edit: Yes, it does have an uninstall entry.

Hook it out there, and you should be good to go. If that doesn't take out the offending driver, get back to me and I'll try to steer you through manual removal.

I just got a note from Russell that uninstalling Drag-to-Disc fixed the problem.
