AngelaK
I just purchased a VHS to DVD plus 3 from Best Buy. I don't however have a cd drive on my laptop (and don't have an external one either). I was planning to capture the VHS videos for upload to youtube. I can't find the software download anywhere online. I read some forum posts, and it sounds like Roxio doesn't have it available for download. I tried other free softwares as well, but they don't seem to work. I also downloaded the drivers for Windows from the Roxio page, but my computer doesn't seem to recognize them. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for the help.
Brendon
You could find or make a friend who does have a CD drive, and get the friend to transfer the software to a USB pendrive. You could then try to install the software from the USB pendrive, if your laptop has a USB socket.

d_deweywright
Same answer applies, have a friend copy the disc to a flash drive, and install from the flash drive.

d_deweywright
Well, you could also go out and get an external, USB connected CD/DVD drive.
sknis
): now all I need is a friend... Once you find a friend, and are ready to install, make sure you do not plug in the USB device before installing the program. I hope you didn't plug in the device already. If you did, come back for instructions to cure the problem you will run into. 1) You were to post the text file as a file, and not all the lines of the text file. You need to understand how to follow directions. Now having said that, a couple of comments: 2) Look at the requirements for the program; it will run but you may have problems IF you have other programs open. You may experience dropped video frames that will cause audio/video sync problems. Using the laptop with lower than full power will also cause problems as will old or poor quality VHS tapes or old or un-optimized (ditry heads) VHS players. 3) Update your video chip driver. Yours is almost 2 years old.
