Will Easy Capture 3 Dongle Work On Win 8.1 Laptop With Only Usb 3 Ports

The box is pretty specific about "USB 2.0" port requirement.

Has anybody successfully installed the USB dongle to a USB 3.0 (SuperSpeed) port?

My new, shipping, HP laptop only has USB 3.0 ports (qty 4). What about a USB 2.0 on a hub in this case?

USB 3 is backward compatible with USB 2. You will notice that a USB 3 tip is longer than a USB 2 tip. The USB 2. just connects to the pins it needs. The box needs revision but they probably printed a lot of them sometime back and they are getting rid of the old boxes! :P

Don't use hubs even powered hubs especially where good data transfer is important. In fact, for desktops we recommend that users use the USB port on the back of their computer for best connection and data transfer. Laptops are different; their USB ports are all good to use.

I guess that USB 2 is going the way of Firewire (IEEE port). I just got a new desktop and it has both USB 2 and USB 3 !

Which HP did you get?
