Export Video "freezes" Up, Audio Ok

Question

I recently bought "Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus". There is virtually no user instructions, but the options seemed fairly intuitive and straight forward. I installed off of a CD including the mandatory patch file with apparently no problem. I am able to create a capture file from the VHS player with not difficulty. I can view the complete video file from within Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus no problem. I can also view the created capture file with Windows Media Player without issue. If I export the file to my PC (creates a Movie Clip and puts in in a "Computer" folder), I can also view the file with Windows Media Player without issue. If I use the trim markers to trim off the short bit of video that I don't with to keep at the beginning and end of the clip, I can still view the video segment within the application, but when I export to the PC the file will not play properly. Using Windows Media Player, the video "freezes" about 4 seconds in, although the audio continues without problem. I have repeated the entire transfer process from the VHS player several times and always get the same result. I have tried putting the trim spot in slightly different points and the video still freezes. I have run the repair routine software on Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus to no avail. I uninstalled and reinstalled with no success. I have not tried to burn the clip to a DVD because I assume that the file will have the same flaw and I do not want to waste a blank DVD. I have attached a shortened version of the clip which seems to freeze in the same spot as the full clip.

I also note that when I select exit to terminate the Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus program I get a message that Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus has stopped working and I need to close the program. I have never received that error message with anyother application as long as I have had this computer when merely exiting the application.

Lastly, I created a "program" I called Test 1 just to play with the application when I first received it. I can retrieve Test 1 when I open Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus, but when I select "remove projects", I see "Test 1" listed, but I cannot select it (it is the only choice listed). This is true most of the time, but not every time. I am wondering if I received a corrupted CD from Roxio. I don't know how to make the application work in the manner I believe it is supposed to. Any thoughts?

PS If an actual Roxio employee ever looks at these entries, I don't think I ever received a support number when I registered the product and, of course, I can't register a second time or ever actually talk to a human person.

Thank you for your attention; however, I am dismayed. I tried to play the movie file that I attached again on my PC with WMP. Again, about four seconds in, the video stopped playing and the image froze and the audio continuted just fine. I have checked the system requirements several times and all requirements seem to have been met or exceeded. I guess this suggests somehow my WMP application has been corrupted. I guess I will try to complete a burn to a DVD and see what results I get. As I get no response what so ever from Roxio, I don't know where else to go.

Your video plays just fine - no stops at all. So that indicates it is not a Roxio problem

Download the VLC media player (much better then the WMP player) and try again.
