Can't Import Avi File To Burn To Dvd

Bryantg

Question

I purchased easy cd&dvd burning after upgrading my laptop to a windows 8 laptop that didn't have my beloved Windows DVD Burner preinstalled on it. Windows DVD Burner was so easy to use and I hadn't found anything that even came close to it since, including Roxio. All my interest is in burning avi files to dvd so it can be played on any traditional dvd player. Roxio won't allow me to import avi file. What am I doing wrong? Or, are they umpteen other hoops I have to jump through in order to get something as simple as this accomplished on your software?

Frustrated.

Roxio's Easy CD & DVD Burning has been surgically altered so that it cannot handle many of the audio and video CODECs that are most popular at present. It cannot handle AVIs where the video has been compressed with those CODECs.

Buyers are not notified before purchase of these restrictions. If Easy CD & DVD Burning cannot handle the AVIs you use, return it to your vendor for a refund.

Full versions of Roxio's Creator suites do not have these restrictions.
