I have made a slideshow using iPhoto 9.5.1 on my iMac with Maverick 10.9.5. My goal is to share it with older relatives who have DVD players, and maybe blue ray players. They don't have any apple products and are not internet users. So my plan was to burn this slideshow on a DVD. Since my iMac with the Maverick does not burn DVDs with iMovie, I purchased Roxio Toast 12. So in iPhoto I exported my slideshow selecting the high definition option (1080p) under slideshow export menu. This results in a m4v file which looks great on my iMac. I then burned this file onto a DVD using Toast 12 as a DVD video. I think I left the aspect ratio on automatic, but may have selected wide screen. During the burning process, I believe Toast converts the m4v file into another file format (don't know what) and then burns the DVD. I played this DVD back on my iMac and the results are very poor, very grainy. Any ideas on how to proceed to fix this problem. I bought Toast 12 mostly to burn photo slideshows on to share with relatives.
