Video Capture Using Creator Nxt

Steve1961

Question

Every time I go to use Video Capture on Creator NXT I get a BLUE SCREEN  . I have uninstalled and re-installed but NO change. All I am trying to do is convert some old VHS tapes to DVD. I am also using the Roxio provided USB/RCA/S-Video dongle. I mainly got this product to convert all my VHS, Cassettes and Vynal to more available products. PLEASE can anyone out there HELP????

We need some more information here if we're to help you.

The blue screen error message tells you what is wrong, and why the computer has been stopped. Here's a typical one.

I've put a line around the name of the problem, the Stop Error number, and the name of a file where the problem happened.

What can you tell us about your blue screen error?

Well I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them, tried downloading different drivers (RoxioC2009USBCaptureDriver, Roxio easyvhstodvd3driverx64-kz06axd1ful, Roxio Video Capture USB Driver-KM00EXD0SQA and Easycap SM-USB_007). I've reset Windows 10 and reinstalled Roxio Creator NXT all to no avail. Every time I get the blue screen with the same message.

What capture device are you using and where did you get it?

Simply downloading/installing drivers that are not designed to be used with the divice can easily corrupt your system. The correct drivers whould have come with the device.

Roxio video capture USB - the new one which I only bought in April. I had one of the older ones but I changed it because I thought that might have been the problem.

With the Roxio USB Device plugged in open Device manager and expand 'other devices and sound video and game controllers'.

Now take a screen capture of what shows in device manager and post it here.

This is the screen shot of my device manager

With regard to the purchase of the video capture USB this was purchased direct from Roxio

I am installing the program from the original disc which I also purchased direct from Roxio in March 2013.

I hope this is helpful and you can come up with a solution to the problem

How do you show 'Audio Imports' in device manager?

Do you use a 'Headset' misconfigured driver?

Do you know what these two are? post-97-0-41125800-1445520884_thumb.jpg

If you find an unknown device or a device you do not think you have, try un-plugging the Roxio USB capture device and see if the entry in question in Device Manager disappears.

If it does not, then the unknown/other device is not the Roxio device but some other misconfigured driver on your computer.

I would get rid of the unknow device and the two Unitron drivers showing in device manager and see if Roxio USB works?

The Headset, Unitron uDirect2 Hands Free and Unitron uDirect2 Stereo are for my Bluetooth hearing aids. It's not these that are affecting the Roxio Video Capture because I only installed them on Tuesday and I have been having the blue screen problem since I first tried to capture a video last year.

I can capture LPs and tapes without any problem, it's just the video capture that causes the trouble.

I have the same problem has anyone managed to solve this?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times following all the instructions given in these forums but it does not solve the problem - the rest of the programs work Ok it's just the video capture that has the fault.

Yes - "Fault in non paged area - emBDA64A.sys"

I had it when I was using Windows 7 and I am still getting it having upgraded to Windows 10. I have uninstalled using Revo, reinstalled with AV turned off as instructed. Reset windows 10 several times but I still get the blue screen.

Hi Jaysee,

In device manager you will probably see a device that is not installed I do believe it is a SMI-USB 007 device.Do am on-line search for a suitable drive, then download it and install. This should solve your problem. It solved mine.

Cheers

Try this link http://www.driverscape.com/download/sm-usb-007 Hope this has been helpful

Thank you for your work and your helpfulness, Steve. That bug check 0x50 would indicate a driver problem in the x64 version of eMBDAA.sys, and an updated driver should fix it as you say.

However I'd be very wary of that "Driver Tool-kit" that your link points to. It's just a convenient collection of free drivers that manufacturers provide, and which can be downloaded from those manufacturers. Driverscape gives you a free trial, but if you keep the 'tool-kit' installed you eventually have to pay them a subscription for the free drivers. That's fine if you're happy with it, but Driverscape doesn't tell you about the cost until you install it.

Regards,

Brendon
