Slow Conversions / Cuba Driver Doesn't Enable Videoboost

Video encoding (.mkv to DVD) is really slow. I let it run for 8 hours and it was only 40% done. I have an iMac (3.5GHZ quad core i7, 32GB RAM) with an NVIDIA 4GB 780M video card, and found that the Mac Cuda driver would help with performance.

 

So I installed the latest Cuda driver from NVIDIA and verified it was installed in System Preferences. I restarted restarted my computer, but the VideoBoost option is still greyed out.

 

I thought I'd try another encode (.mkv to DVD), so I let it run for an hour, but it only was 4% done. So the conversion is still really slow.

 

 

Is this slow performance normal? Why can't I enable VideoBoost after installing the Cuda driver?

 

This is new iMac and Toast 12 Pro is a new install (not an upgrade) with the latest Toast 12 update (12.0.1). Also, I've already experienced a couple of crashes during encoding attempts.

 

 

Hope someone can help. I miss iDVD and was hoping this would replace it. But if it's normally this slow and crashes a lot....

I have Mac Pro 2009, GTX 680, NVIDIA drivers: 343.02.02f01, CUDA files: 6.5.45

Bumping this thread. I have two cards in my Mac Pro, and VideoBoost is still disabled.

• GeForce GT 120
  
• GeForce GTX 660ti
  

I just installed CUDA drivers v6.5.33.

My VideoBoost of Toast11 is disabled today....greyed out.

That problem sometimes happens my systems.

 

Then I tried to the down grade CUDA Driver from 6.5.45 to 6.0.37 on different setting of my 2009y MacPro's.

because they don't release the Toast 11 update for latest CUDA driver for a long time.

CUDA Driver 6.0.37 is still better for my OS 10.9.5 Mavericks and Toast 11.....

 

1. Finder Menu----Go------Folder-----. Then, find and delete those CUDA files.

2. Install CUDA Driver 6.0.37 that If you use OS 10.9.5...sorry I don't know that other Mac OS's CUDA Driver matching.

3. Reboot Mac.........done!!

Try and Retry to find CUDA driver fits your OS.
