jonny.nyc
How do I convert an MP4 movie file that is downloaded on my desktop to a file that I can burn onto a DVD and afterwards will be playable on DVD players?
tsantee
Choose DVD video as the format in the Toast Video window, add the video, prepare the menu the way you like, insert a blank disc and click the burn button.
ula ann
i did this with a MP4 file. it went thru a lengthy export (8 hours). when i tried to find it to burn, it was 71 gig. the 2nd file took forever again, converted to disc image, but when i tried to mount it to burn would not be found. oh, it's there as a disc image but stays greyed out. frustrating as hell after using toast 10 for years. any suggestions? tsantee
Did you mean to say Toast went through a lengthy encoding rather than export? When you saved as a disc image did you select the resulting .toast file with the Image File setting in the Toast Copy window? I can't think of a reason you would end up with a 81 GB file because Toast won't author a video DVD larger than what fits a DL disc, and that would be a video of about 3 hours or more. The problem you've encountered bewilders me.
