Upgrade

Question

Hi, do you have to have a previous copy of Creator 10 on the same PC that you want to upgrade to NXT3. I have Creator 10 on my old PC but want to upgrade to NXT 3 on to my new PC. My new PC Operating System (7 Pro) won't work with Creator 10 so I can't install it before upgrade.

No, you won't have to have any other version of Roxio software on your computer. The NXT3 is a stand alone suite.

Sure would like to know why your Creator 10 (??) won't work with Win 7 Pro on your new computer ??? If it won't install and work properly there could be the chance that NXT3 won't work either do to a problem with your computer ??

He could be talking about EMC 10 which would not work with Windows 7. That's the problem when folks don't post the correct name of the software they want help with. You don't know what software they are actually talking about.

Sorry my fault. It is Easy Media Creator 10. My concern is that does an upgrade version have to be loaded on top of an old version. If this is the case, how do you put an upgrade on to a new machine that the operating system (win 7 pro) won't accept the old version. Cheers.

Digital Guru: Does Post #2 imply that if you buy the upgrade version of NXT2 (or 3) that it will install on a clean PC that does not have previous versions?

I am having the same problem. I bought NXT2 in October of 2014 and could never get it to install and support would not help me without paying for a support call. So today I purchased NXT3 upgrade hoping it would install but I got the same error code.

Error trying to read from the source install database: C:\Users.......\Roxio Creator NXT 3.msi

Again this error occurred when trying to install NXT2 from DVD in October and again today when I purchased the download upgrade to NXT3.

The word "Upgrade" applies only to the pricing, which is reduced if you prove ownership of an earlier version.

You still get the standard retail package, same as everyone else, which does not require the presence of a previous version on your system. [Actually, if my experience is anything to go on, it has less problems installing on a clean system.]
