Software Interupted/ Won't Install

Ok soo I recently bought the new Roxio Game Capture HD Pro and went to install it and going through it uninstalled my RGC(Standard) and then it installed and then gave me "Roxio Game Capture has been interrupted" screen and said check log files. and i think i found out why is because my laptop specs cant handle HD Pro? so i guess i'll it there.

 

But....when i try to reinstall my Roxio Game Capture(Standard) it gives me the same "RGC has been interrupted, install later" window

(Note: i had RGC on my computer before)

 

How can i fix this problem? Why won't it install on my laptop?

 

PC secs: Genuine Intel core CPU 1.67 Ghz

Windows 7 32-bit

  • Microsoft Windows® 8, 7, Vista™ SP2, XP (SP3 for 32 bit & SP2 for 64 bit), Intel® Core 2 Duo Processor 1.8 GHz or AMD Athlon x2 64 2.0 GHz, 2GB RAM
  • Dual Core 2.3 GHz above is recommended for 1080 30p/60i recording

He's trying to reinstall the standard version he had up and running on the same PC at a earlier date.

 

His CPU is still under minimum system requirements for the standard version.

 

Vista or Win7:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Roxio Log Files

 

Zip up the entire folder then attach the zipped file.

It errored on the \DIRECTX_FEB10, Download and install from this link http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=9033

 

Click the download button and download it to your desktop.

 

 

 


    1. Click the Download button on this page to start the download, or select a different language from the Change language drop-down list and click Go.
       
    2. Do one of the following:
      • To start the installation immediately, click Run.
         
      • To save the download to your computer for installation at a later time, click Save.
         
      • To cancel the installation, click Cancel.

Before installing it reboot your PC then shutdown all running programs especially antivirus/firewall software then run the DIRECTX_FEB10, on the desktop follow the prompts, reboot the PC when done.

Post the log files again.

 

Copy the content of your installation disc to a new folder you make on your desktop.

 

Are you disabling all running programs especially antivirus/firewall software?

 

Are you running in a administrator account?

 

Run the setup.exe from the folder on your desk top.

I disabled firewall/anti virus when i was installing and I'm on admin account

Application is dying during the installation of DIRECTX

 

You'll need to do the following

1. Copy all files from your installation disc to folder on your hard drive/desktop. (done right?)

2. From the folder run command line

setup.exe DisableProducts=DIRECTX_FEB10 Mandatory=0

3. Select No when prompted to download updates at beginning.

 

Simply hold down the Shift key and right-click the folder on the desktop with Roxio Game Capture in it. The context menu will contain an entry, ‘Open command window here.” type this in the box, setup.exe DisableProducts=DIRECTX_FEB10 Mandatory=0 press enter on the keyboard.

Check that you have local administrator rights?

 

The install can get to the internet?

The installation program needs to communicate with a Roxio activation server!
