I have no idea how many pictures you can actually add to a PhotoShow slideshow but trying to put 5300 pictures into a slideshow is (in my opinion just ridiculous). Even at a 2 second duration for each picture it would take 4 hours to watch.

Exactly how were you thinking of watching it? Do you realize how long it would take to upload that many pictures?

I believe the answer is 400. From the help files:

Digital photos

Roxio PhotoShow supports digital photos in the following formats: JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, and TIFF.

The maximum file size of a photo which can be uploaded to a PhotoShow is 20 MB.

The maximum number of images that can be included in a PhotoShow is 400.

Don't use the on-line version of PhotoShow. It is broken and won't be fixed. Download and use the desktop version and then upload your PhotoShow to YouTube or similar. If you are a frequent YouTube poster, you can get about 15 to 20 minutes.

Roxio Creator has an almost limitless number of images you can use in making a video file or DVD or thumbdrive.
