Blu-Ray Not Functional

BenT

Question

I installed Roxio Creator NXT 3 PRO from downloads. Performed install, then removed and re-installed with antivirus disabled. My computer has two (2) SATA Blu-Ray drives - an older LG drive and a new Asus BW-16D1T. Roxio will recognize a BD blank disc, and will burn a data disc to blu-ray.

However, when I open MyDVD, the blu-ray option is grayed out and cannot be selected.

Also, I cannot play a blu-ray using WinDVD - the software says "Media Not Supported".

Did you install ALL of the downloads; there should have been 3 of them. The ability to burn blu ray videos is not part of the main program but is included in the second (or third download).

The WinDVD may be the crippled version that does not play commercial DVDs. NXT has that crippled version.

Yes, I carefully installed all three download packages - a total of 3.7GB. No reported errors at all, and all anti-virus and firewall software disabled.

As an aside, I was also very disappointed to note that the SonicFire sound package was deleted.

This a new build PC, so there should not have been time for Windows Creep to set in and cause conflicts. Also, I am careful not to run any memory enhancement software, registry cleaners, etc.

Ben I must apologize. I fired up my laptop where I have NXT 3 and I could not reach any controls for blu-ray.

hen you open MyDVD, go to help and turn on blu ray authoring. Yes, this is stupid ! Once you do that, you can't turn it off again !

Edited. See images below.

Wow - thank you so much! I've been going nuts why I haven't been able to author Blu-Ray disks and getting support from Roxio is next to impossible. I've been so frustrated. This little extra step in Help was the answer. Thanks again!!!!!

P.S. SO STUPID!!!
