Video And Sound Playing In The Window, But Is Says "no Signal" Next To It

fc227

Question

Greetings all,

Video and sound playing in the window, But is says "no signal". This happens with my USB video stick , But it does recognize my MSI tuner card. When I send a signal to that I get both video and sound and I am allowed to capture. But not when I use the "USB"

Any ideas ?

I was using the analog outputs , But the Cam corder does have a DV out , Now i have to find cable

Yes, that should solve your problems with compatibility. Find the cable and attach it directly to your computer -USB or Firewire; which ever is applicable.. Why didn't you tell us which camcorder? That would have helped. Do you have a Firewire (IEEE) port on your computer?

Roxio will not work with another device. You would have to make an analog capture using the software taht was included with your EasyCap ;)

As Steve pointed out, the DV output will work IF you have a Firewire (1394) and an OS that supports it :D

So there are 2 paths to pursue, let us know!

Yes , it has 1394 port and the Camcorder is a Sony DCR-TRV820 . The cam corder also has a "LANC/digital i/o" port that plug into a serail port But My computer only has USB ports no com ports.

Looking around for the DV to 1394 cables , but no local computer store has them. Looks like I will have to order one online.

No idea since I cannot figure out from your post what it is you are doing or even what you are trying to do.

How about a detailed explanation?

From what is it you are trying to capture?

To attach a picture (from the forum Help system):

Attachments

Depending on where in the community you are posting your message at, you may be able to upload attachments to your message. There are two types of uploaders available: the default uploader and the flash uploader.

Default Uploader

The default uploader allows you to upload attachments one at a time. To begin, press the Attach Files button. A box will appear for you to select the file on your computer that you want to attach. Select the file you want to upload.

If you change your mind, you can press the button and then choose a different file.

Once you have selected the file you want, press Attach the file.

If there are any errors uploading the file, you will receive an error message, otherwise, you will see the attachment appear.

Flash Uploader

You can enable the flash uploader from your settings menu. When enabled, you will be able to easily upload more than one file at a time.

To start, press Click to Attach Files. A box will appear for you to select the file or files on your computer that you want to attach. Select the file or files you want to upload. You can select more than one file at a time by holding Ctrl (on Windows) or Command (on Mac) and click on the files.

Once you have selected your files and clicked "Open", they will begin uploading. If there are any errors uploading the files, you will receive an error message, otherwise, you will see the attachments appear.

Managing Attachments

Regardless of which uploader you use, once the files are uploaded you will see them on your screen. By default, all attachments are added to the bottom of your message, however, you can add any attachment to a particular section of your post by pressing the "Add to Post" link.

If you wish to remove an attachment and have it not appear in your post, simply press the "Delete" link.

That does not look like a Roxio capture device. Is this the capture device you are using: "Usb 2.0 atv easycap"? If you are using a non-Roxio device then the Roxio software may not work with the device correctly

I assume you are trying to capture video from some video player: VHS VCR or what? You are not supplying much inforation to work with
