Using Mydvd The Project Freezes On My Computer During The Encoding Movie Stage.

Randy65301

Question

When I try to create a DVD, my computer freezes. If I go into options and change it to hardware, I can get it to go to 7% before it stops. If I use the software option it doesn't get off of 0%. I have tried to create a disc image and set folders. Neither works any better.

I have restarted my computer, defragmented the hard drive. Nothing seems to work. Please Help me!

Post your system specs.

Give us some information about your project: what are your source videos, pictures, transitions etc.

Did you assemble your movie in Videowave? Can you export from there to a DVD mpg video file?

Windows 7 Home Premium

Systemax ode SYX-H61M-E23

Intel Core i7-2600k CPU @3.40 GHz

8 GB Ram

6 Bit Operating System

I TB Hard Drive, 170 GB Free

Nvidia GeForce GT 440

The videos were all created from Roxio VideoWave

They are all MP4 videos

6bit OS?

Why did you create mp4 video files if you are creating a DVD? Why not go directly to mpg since that is what a DVD requires and myDVD will render to anyway?

How many clips are in the project? How long in time is the whole project in myDVD? How long did you wait before deciding the program was frozen?

Sorry 64 bit

I tried the second movie which is where the process was freezing as an mpg and this time the program crashed and closed at that point.

What is the source video for the 2nd movie? What is the original format? Are you applying any effects, transitions, audio, etc?

Can you describe exactly what you are doing? Which program crashed: Videowave or myDVD? At what point did it crash?

The DVD is for a Blu-Ray. It has 4 Clips on it.

The first is a MP4 video which encodes fine.

I have tried he second as an MP4, AVCHD 1440x1080/24p, MPEG-2 1920x1080, and couple other options. They were all made using videowave.

It crashes while encoding the second movie.

I really want to keep the high quality of the video. Help Please.

For clarity, I created the videos that I am using in videowave. When I was creating the DVD in myDVD is when it crashed. It did so while encoding the second movie.

Walt is off line right now maybe I can offer something...

First an HD Project can only remain HD when you use DVD media
IF
you are burning to an AVCHD Project. Is that what you are doing?

If so, please keep in mind that an
AVCHD DVD
is only readable on
MOST
BD Players! It cannot be read by a DVD Player...

Something is breaking when you render... A Proper Repair may fix that or it may require you to 'pre-render' your clips or even require BOTH :o

Let's try the repair first ;)

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where
Repair
is offered, choose that!

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.
