Personal Permissions

REDWAGON

Question

How are the "Permissions" determined regarding the "Personal Profile" of a member. Just curious as I tried to change the "Picture" in my profile and was denied access.

Oh yeah, on the last forum I was listed as an "Apprentist", now I am shown as a "Newbie". I guess I have to start all over, right ?

Best to all in our new year 2006. :)

Thanks ml for the information, although there was now way (permissions denied again) that I could reply to your e-mail.

Frank......

Sorry ml that I can't even get to read your last message. I received an e-mail from patatrox saying there was another message from you. However when I go to try and open it, I get a returned error that says " You are not allowed to use the messenger feature on this board".

I had explained in a previous e-mail to the Roxio Administrator, who turned out to be Patatrox, asking why I couldn't get any of my old forum personal settings back. Patatrox replied to my e-mail and all he said was I had another message from you regaring my original post, but didn't answer any of my questions.

Maybe Paul needs some more beer huh ??? (kidding of course).

I heard a whisper of the word 'beer' and came running :)

Are you using IE or Firefox? I think both are working fine but I think permission settings are something that Patrick may be needing to do for each account tho I can't be sure. I am sure that it will be working soon and that this is just part of the growing pains.

Glad you made it this far.

I don't know why you cannot get into your PM. It's possible that feature hasn't been enabled yet. They did say that they'd be working on it for the next 48 hours ( or more if Murphy's Law applies.)

As to the settings from the previous board, it's possible that they might not come back. My guess would be that the settings don't transfer automatically and it would take a lot of time to transfer everyones settings.

You are still listed as a "Digital Guru", but for some reason they placed me back as a "Newbie". That's not a big deal I guess as long as I can still participate in the group discussions.

What I am interested in knowing however, is why I can't go to my InBox and retrieve any of your sent messages. The only way I got this one was going to a particular web site address that PatatRox sent to me in an e-mail. Am I being that stupid about how to read my InBox mail, or what ?

Anyway ml, thanks for all your help.

I am using IE (latest version) Paul. I'll hang in there though no matter what. I just finished off a Bud Light. Sorry I couldn't have had it with you. Cheers
