Display Problem For Mydvd And Videowave

dcerandy

Question

Up until a couple days ago I had no problems with MyDVD (or VideoWave) in Creator Pro3. Now when I open the screens I get the look in the attached file - and can't navigate to do anything. I've done a complete uninstall and reinstall and no luck. Suggestions?

Make sure you are using Windows font at 96 dpi (100%). Si your display set at or above the minimum required? Have you updated the drivers for your video cards?

Search this site for the solution. Others have experienced it but I don't remember the details. It was not with NXT 3. It is a computer setting.

I have the exact same problem on a desk top with a Intel Core i7-875k processor, an 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5870 PCI Express using DirectX 11 with 16GB RAM on Windows 7. Thought maybe download files corrupted but no change when installed from back up disc that arrived a few days ago. Have checked drivers and just about every self-help source. It's the same with MyDVD. The programs open but don't display properly and the problem seems to be the placing of text within the window (all the letters are one on top of the other) so impossible to read. Apart from this, everything seems to be working as it should (buttons, pull down menus, etc.). Can't say I've ever had a problem like this with any other application but Roxio certainly has had its problems since I first started using it way back in the dark ages! Trouble is it's so good when it works! The last straw - It works very well on my laptop using an Intel processor and Intel HD Graphics 4000 card that leads me to think that the issue is maybe card compatability or a messed up registry (and there I really wouldn't know where to begin). Any thoughts would be most gratefully received.

I started this topic - and my "solution" to this in the end was to as best I could totally uninstall Creator Pro 3 and re-install Creator Pro 2, which works just fine. I got tired of installing/re-installing. I don't know what capabilities I'm missing, but at least it will function.

WELL WELL WELL!

I thought I was going CRAZY!

It always worked then the same issue I started having as also.

I even installed on SEVERAL PC's and a laptop

THEN I just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on a Dell PC (with the free upgrade they are providing) and NOW IT'S FINE!

I changed nothing in display settings and have different video cards on each PC I installed on.

2 Dells, an HP, Lenovo and the laptop was Dell.

SO ROXIO! FIX YOUR PROGRAM !!!!!!!!!!!! STOP telling these people to climb mountians and move boulders to make something work that should NOT have issues in the first place.

And installing and uninstalling on the variety of PC's BETTER NOT give me activation errors as the Dell I have it on now that is working is the ONLY PC I have it installed on. I uninstalled from all the other devices since I only need it on 1 and it works with the Windows 10 software.

Oh and I even ROLLED the PC back from Windows 10 to Windows 7 and the screen was bad again.

THEN I reinstalled Windows 10 and the screen is now GOOD to go!

NO!

This is and always has been a user error. The reason Win 10 "fixed" is because it took away the setting you were using (it has had some video card driver issues).

And when you rolled it back, you restored the improper settings, so we will continue to call a spade a spade here and not jump to uninformed conclusions -_-
