No Monitor Signal While Recording Pc?

toastythomas

Question

Quick Map:

Computer -> HDMI Output on Graphics Card -> HDMI Cord -> Capture Card Input -> Roxio GameCap HD Pro -> Capture Card Output -> HDMI Cord -> HDMI to DVI-D Adapter -> DVI-D Port -> Monitor

Problem:

I do the connection path above and my monitor screen has no DVI signal. It is black.

Does it work if you just go right from your HDMI port, into the HDMI to DVI-D Adapter and to your monitor? If so, then it's possible that your HDMI to DVI-D Adapter doesn't support HDCP (copy protection) which the Roxio GameCap HD Pro adds to the HDMI signal.

Your best bet at that point would be to get an HDMI splitter to go before the GameCap HD Pro, then take the unprotected signal to your monitor.

Hope that helps!

Could you give me a link to an HDMI splitter that would do the job?
