Sound Editor Exports Jumping...

JP91

Question

Hey all,

I am having some issues with my Roxio Sound Editor because any time that I finish a project and export it, it never exports correctly.

The resulting file sounds like the clips have moved by a second or so after editing and so jumps, skips and sounds awfully edited. I always check before I export and it sounds nothing like the preview. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong? It is driving me insane!!

Hederer: You put this into a "Report". Was that your intention?

Are you exporting the MIX or the TRACKS/CLIPS ? If you are making a mix, then you should be exporting the MIX.

If you export the clips/tracks, then Windows MAY order them in alpha order.

I T D O E S N T M A T T E R I F I E X P O R T T H E M I X O R THE TRACKS !!!!!!
Only exporting clips will result single, clean files.

MIX OR TRACK- EXPORT DOESNT WORK PROBERLY !!!!
IT DOESNT MATTER IF I HAVE 2 CLIPS OR 300!! EXPORTING TRACKS OR MIX will result a damaged export.

AAARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

That means, it doesnt matter if I have 1 or 8 audio lines and it doesnt matter if I have 288 clips or just 1.

The software exports mp3, wav, etc. ALLWAYS mixed up. (I posted a little sample in #13 and the screenshot of the sample).

I tried on my pc, on my laptop and on my moms pc. ALL THE SAME!!!

Can you zip up the project from post #13 and upload it to a site such a google drive or drop box from which we can download and really see what you are doing and what is happening?

Hederer (et al)

Would you please read Dave Deweywright's excellent post (here) in this topic. I think it would explain why you're encountering the problem you report.

The post is in one of the Mac forums, but the structure of a CD is an agreed standard regardless of the software used to make it.

Regards,

Brendon

Just wondering if anyone here has tried your project to see if they can replicate your results?

Jim, I did and can replicate the OP's result. There is a glitch after the individual clips where the audio repeats a tiny bit of the previous clip and shifts the clips. I exported from Sound Editor and then recorded a part straight from Sound Editor without exporting and you can note the differences below in the waveform. The top (TestMP3) is exported from Sound Editor (Export mix) and the bottom is recorded while playing in Sound Editor (no glitches).

I am experiencing the same problem after I use the Mix & Merge function for audio tracks. An inspection of the 23 track separators I manually inserted before the mix & merge had progressively shifted earlier for each track until it was 3 seconds off by the last track. I had been using Easy Creator 9 and it does not have this problem. Somewhere in-between 9 and NXT 3 Pro, the Mix & Merge function broke. What's going on?

I have exatly the same problem. No way to have the final project exatly as the preview. There are always clicks, or clips not in the same place, and so on... I think the problem is in the software and the behavior with the sound card.

Same here! I made an audio drama for my kids (some weeks of work!) And now I finished and I tried to export.

It ist not mixed up, but the single audio parts are splitted a little (one second of the end is pasted on the start on EVERY! audio part).

Every export way or type is doing the same!

The preview while editing the tracks is PERFEKT!

What shall we do!? shall I run the preview and record with another pc !?!?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I have used Sound Editor in most all of the Roxio programs and have never had any problems

editing or saving. How are you doing it ?

When I use "Export Mix" or "Export Track" or "Burn CD" the problem is the same. A audio clip "Oh my dear" will become "h my dearO".

When I use "Export Clip" the single clip is exported fine!

Installation on another computer with turned-off AV results same mix-up :-C

The output file type doesnt matter. all file types mixing up.

(By the way: When I open "Export Track/Clip" and choose a track or clip to use the Play (preview) button for this track, the software jumps to the next track all 1-10 seconds from itself!!)

Can you please post a screen shot of the Sound Editor page (like the one Redwagon posted except with a populated mix editor and with audio file in the upper part of the page showing at least 2 song showing? It might be a little large but it can be done. If you are having problems posting it, post two images, top and bottom.

Thanks

That is a pretty wild mix editor set up. Do you want to overlap music, add voice to a music cut or ????. Please clarify what you are trying to do (in layman's terms).

I also see what looks to be about 7 different audios on the audio track part of the image. Several of these have a long "slence" and then another piece of music. Is that what you have or is that one long piece of music with several areas of silence.

I made a audio drama (dont know the correct word for it in english) with my kids in the type of "the tree invesitgators".

It is background music or background sound (market places, whatever) and sometime the narrator or the protagonists talking

Sometimes more of them talking at same time (like "Hold him! He stole my money!!! ;-D

It was very easy to create (but lot of work!!).

AND THE PROBLEM APPEARS ALSO WHEN I DO THREE CLIPS IN ONLY ONE SINGLE TRACK (i tried).

When I press PLAY everythings fine. When I export a minimalistic mix of just 2 or 3 clips the same splittet clips will result.

Just have a look....or a hear!? ;-)

"Yes, my name is Sarina,Na"

"re you Sarina?,A"

and so on....

Maybe it is a problem in the german software version!?

I'll send you my project and you can export it for me!
