Anything But Easy

DTR

Question

Hello is there anybody out there who can help because you can't get hold of anyone at roxio.....

This is anything but easy!! EASY VHS TO DVD3

I installed the program as per the getting started booklet.

It doesn't work !!

Firstly the image is too large for my screen setting. 1280 x 800 is what I use.

There is no video signal when the video cable is connected.

When audio is connected there is an intermitent loud hum.

As the screen image is too big most of the controls like RECORD and Playback level are not visible and it is not possible to drag it smaller. Even removing the task bar at the bottom of screen doesn't reveal the buttons.

Any idea what might be the problem. I am using Win 7

Also how can I be kept informed of any answers without having to keep checking.

Thanks

Now with the USB Device plugged into the PC open device manager and expand sound, video, and game controllers.

Do you show two Roxio entries? Do you have a other devices to expand, if so what does it show.

A screen capture and attach it in your post would help.

Explain how your connected in detail?

Your not using a USB Hub?

Try a different USB port.

Below where I have the red black plugged in you should have red/white audio then the yellow video to the yellow connector back to the VCR the same red/white audio then the yellow video.

Hi cdanteek,

I switched USB ports and got it working but only had sound on one channel. Could not get audio to work on both channels but I hooked my audio cables into the back of my TV and now have audio on both channels.

Now I have another question. I want to put my VHS data into my computer and then I want to edit it and then transfer it to DVD. Reading the booklet it seems I can't do that. Is there a work around for that?

Thanks for your help.

I want to put my VHS data into my computer and then I want to edit it and then transfer it to DVD.

That is what the software is for!

Record Edit and Save I believe is what you want.

The quality it puts out means only one hour on a single layer DVD and almost two hours on a dual layer DVD.

Ah Ha, That is what I thought. When I initially clicked on the Record, edit and save I got a menu box opening up requesting I pick a file from my files which of course I didn't have but this time I just clicked on record and IT WORKED>>>>>>>>>> Thanks for getting me out of my funk......

I am out of here to start working on some old VHS.

Thanks for your help.

regards
