Does Windows recognize that blu ray burner now? Perhaps Windows forgot it. Go to your Device Manager and see if it is listed without any kind of icon (yellow triangle). . Tell us the full name of the burner. Right click on it and select to delete it, shut down and reboot. Look at Device Manager again. Is it listed? Can you use it now? If you can't, the device is broken. Perhaps the laser was knocked out of alignment.

Just to clarify, the only option you have now when you open MyDVD is AVCHD?

There does not seem to be a plug in available for purchase for this software on the website. It does not allow me to burn Blu Rays even though I have a burner that is recognized (it allows me to burn data to a Blu-Ray). Has it been removed?

NXT 2 is a versions behind what is available and perhaps 2 since the newest version is due.. Contact Roxio/Corel sales to see if it is still available There are also free programs that will allow you to burn blu ray video (read about ImgBurn be carefull there is a lot of junk that goes along with the program).

The only thing to try at this point requires you to have both the Software as well as the BD Plug In. Do you have both?

If so, start with the BD Plug In, and insert the disc (or run the download). I would expect it to offer to Repair if it does choose that, or let it install.

Reboot and give it a try.

The next is more involved so try this first ;)

When I try to create a DVD the blue ray option is grayed out now. I used to have all 4 choices available including blue ray but now I only have 3. How do I get the blue ray option back?

With this program or with an earlier version? Are you running any registry cleaners - not now but in the past they have caused issues. Have you run a re-install or a repair?

Open MYDVD and look at the top menus. There may be a control to allow you to burn blu ray. I don't remember which menu item but it is obvious when you get to that option. It disappears once it is selected.

Do you have an internal or USB connected blu ray burner; have you check that?

Pioneer BD-RW BDR-208M ATA Device. Deleted it, it was reinstalled (listed again with no yellow triangle), still only have the 2 Standard def options in roxio (DVD & VCD) and 1 Hi Def (AVCHD). Blue ray still greyed out. I can watch blue ray dvd's with the burner. Still think it is the laser? Any way to check?

It does not matter to Roxio if you have a working BD Burner or not

The Burner only needs to be there IF you want to burn. But you can make Projects all day long on a PC with NO burners.

You started by saying you used to have this option but later said you have NXT 2 (not Pro) which does not have BD Movie capability. Of course it can if you have the BD Plug In added. Also, NXT can burn a Data BD regardless of the Plug In.

I am still assuming that you have a version that has this ability but it would be nice if you would confirm that! -_-

Roxio NXT2. No registry cleaners, just norton antivirus. Tried a repair, no difference. MYDVD Menu File, change project type to : DVD, Blu ray, AVCHD--first 2 are grayed out, only AVCHD available. Internal blu ray burner, seems to be fine.

You didn;t say if you looked at the top menu tabs and selected to allow blu ray . Did you?

Did you select wide screen when you started the project in "Edit Video -Advanced" aka Video Wave?
