Ok I have the solution here......So I have windows 7 and had DirectX 11 installed, HOWEVER, I did not have the "Direct 9" runtime files installed" and Roxio needs them to run. Once the download was completed and computer rebooted, all programs worked fine.

Jim and skis, thank you for your time and help with this.

One more question... After you click Create DVDs do a Ctrl-Alt-Del and look in Task Manager to see if it is running somewhere?

If Nothing shows up, you already downloaded the Revo Uninstaller so lets try the last method we have...

This is extensive, but it what I suggest...

(Add Nothing! - Skip Nothing!)

Download and install the
Uninstaller. Then run it in
Moderate Mode
to remove any traces of Roxio.

Create a New User Account with Administrator Privileges.

Turn OFF any A/V & Firewall.

Reboot and log on to that new account.

Copy your entire disc to a new folder on your HDD.

In that new folder, right click on Setup.exe and select Properties.

Under the Compatibility tab, make sure
nothing
is checked!

Right click Setup.exe and select Open.

Allow it to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio not Windows)

Use the Default Locations!

When the Install competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

no other display issues. I was even able to download other DVD creator software to do the quick project I was trying to put together and had no problem with that. I can also even open the edit simple video program (Fast Flick) but can not open the create dvd's or My dvd with no error messages. the application just does not open.

I did make sure windows update is set and tied to update drivers, and they seem to be up to date I am sure it is something on my end that is the issue, just can not figure out how what it is and how to get around it. I have used Roxio software for all my previous videos and was hoping to continue to use it now. I am used to the software and editing tools and would like to keep it.

thank you

First thing is we will move this to the right Forum, sinced you changed the game

Looking through your DxDiag, nothing jumped out :(

But I think we need to do sort of flush and install

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Download and install the
Uninstaller. Then run it in
Moderate Mode
to remove any traces of Roxio.

Then turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Now insert your Roxio Disc. (Downloads, just run the file)

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When the Install competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

Keep in mind that there is a limit to the number of installs and when you reach it you would have to contact Roxio to get it reset.

jim,

Ok I will check on that info when I get home tonight. But I agree the computer should be able to run it. The computer originally came with the entire program and has worked fine for me over the years. However I recently had to replace the hard drive and lost the Roxio programs, which is why I am re-downloading them.

Yes, All but one other program opens up besides the create dvd and the "Plug and Burn" program. (that one give a "Runtime" error") But I am leaning that it is something with my computer because late last night I also purchased and downloaded the Creator 3 and Continue to have the same issues with that. I do not have the actually cd's since I downloaded it from the website, can I or should I try to uninstall them and then re-install them??

thank you again for your time and help with this.

Lets start by doing a proper repair to your install...

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Go to the file you downloaded and Run it (may be the 'Open' option)

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where
Repair
is offered, choose that!

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

That should do the trick, let us know! ;)
