Can't Install Roxio Game Capture Hd Pro

Hello everyone! So, about 6 months ago I purchased the HD Pro, and it worked great. Yesterday, I was informed that I could update my capture system, so, very eagerly I updated it. It uninstalled Roxio and began to reinstall it. When it was about 80% complete, it stopped working, and said setup interrupted. I scrambled to find my disc and key, and began to reinstall it. But the same thing happened. I've been working on it for a few hours now, but can't seem to find out why it isn't working. I started installing it on my dad's computer to see if it worked. It installed without a problem. I'm not sure why it won't work, and I can't find any youtube videos that would help. I deleted everything Roxio related and tried again. Still nothing. I made a new user account and gave it administrative powers, but that still didn't work. I noticed something during the install on my dad's computer, that wasn't on mine. It said, while installing, something about directx 9. I recently formatted my computer, so I went to Microsoft and installed it, but sadly nothing happened.

I did not upload the full Install log. The first 98% was just installing, the end was the error.

There is a posting in this Forum showing you how to acquire & post your Setup Log. Please use that.

 

This is extensive, but it what I suggest...

Follow these steps (Add Nothing! - Skip Nothing!)

 

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

 

Download and install the

Revo

Uninstaller. Then run it in

Moderate Mode

to remove any traces of Roxio.

 

Create a New User Account with Administrator Privileges.

 

Turn OFF any A/V & Firewall.

 

Reboot and log on to that new account.

 

Copy your entire disc to a new folder on your HDD.

 

In that new folder, right click on Setup.exe and select Properties.

 

Under the Compatibility tab, make sure

nothing

is checked!

 

Right click Setup.exe and select Open.

 

Allow it to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio not Windows)

 

Use the Default Locations!

 

When the Install competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.
