A File Could Not Be Found: Result Code -43

jarome

Question

I am trying to burn my 2014 financial information to a CD for my accountant. I keep getting the result code -43 saying that a file could not be found. There are about 40 files, and this error SHOULD tell me which it cannot find, but it does not.

This is Toast 12 Platinum (also on Toast 10) on OS X 10.10.

I fixed my disk permissions and also removed the Roxio plist from my user library.

How do I figure out which file it is? I manually checked them all, and they are there. All pdfs and one xls file.

Help, it is tax time!

My best guess is Toast encountered a file or something within a file that was corrupted, locked or in some way unable for Toast to read. The error message comes from the OS so it may be that Toast new the location of the file but couldn't copy it. Toast is more picky about this sort of thing than is Apple's burn. It's good you found an easy workaround. Otherwise you might have had to resave new versions of those files for it to work in Toast.
