Videowave Editing - Clip Has No Sound

I'm new to editing, so I maybe asking simple questions. I copied my video from a Panasonic HD camera to my computer. I just wanted to trim a few seconds off the start and end. I open the video, and there isn't any sound in the preview pane. It is a video of a person giving a speech. Were did the sound go?. When I play the clip with Windows media player the sound is there, but not with Videowave. Am I doing something wrong (ok probably - but what?)

My computer is fast, lots of ram, new video card. The video is ACVHD (.MTS) . Does it need to be converted to Mpg4 or something like that?

Thanks for any help!

I am having the same issue.

Couldn't we convert the file using the Copying and Convert Video software in NXT 3?

Yes and no. Some convert properly; some don't. Try it and tell us which ones converts properly and which ones don't.

Remember that there is a lot of experience in the answers/recommendations that are given
