Noreano
Hi, I am transferring home video to dvd. Is there a way of copyrighting the dvd so it can not be copied.
Brendon
Copy protecting is a physical thing, Copyrighting is a legal thing. There's no easy way to make a disc copy protected. If it can be read it can be copied.
Jim_Hardin
I have known some that put in text at the beginning stating that the, 'material is copyrighted' even though they do not actally have a copyright on the material... (Poker Bluff) Otherwise, Brendon is 110% correct.

d_deweywright
Technically, that's all that's needed to establish a copyright, the claim thereof. If you write a report, and somewhere in there put, "© 2015, (insert your name here)" you have established a legal copyright. There is no other formal reporting required. (Yeah, I got a little bit into copyright information at one point.) But with that, you can claim copyright, and put up a legal defense. Of course, that does nothing to make it copy protected. It just makes it illegal for someone to do so without your permission.
