No Video Signal

Dale1957

Question

Installed software with no video issues. First tried to trouble shoot with review of other similar post and tried obvious fixes to same results.

Running Win7 Home Premium

Intel Core i5-4570 3.2GHz

64Bit system built by Memory Express.

Video AMD Radeon HD7900

DVD/CD-ROM Asus DRW-24F1ST

Roxio build 301B83A ENU

VCR is Sharp model VC-H985

I am using composite (RWY) cables and have tested to TV ensuring VCR and cables carry good signal.

Initial install can't recall if dongle was plugged in but tried repair with it plugged and then went through complete uninstall and 2nd install definitely plugged in. I have also used various USB plugins both from the front and back of computer currently leaving on back.

Also ran through various device driver updates (display, DVD ROM, network) to ensure most recent available we're installed.

One thing I notice from posts are continued question of the sound controller and what is displayed. I do not see any reference to USB 2861 Device. I do have Roxio Video Capture USB only but twice under device listing. I saw it display the first time when dongle was plugged in prior to 2nd installation and showed a second line after installation. Prior to uninstall of first attempt I noticed same 2x lines of Roxio Video Capture USB and no mention of the USB 2861 Device. After uninstall I confirmed that there were no mentions of same Roxio device.

Have I left anything out? BTW on the 2nd install the audio is not constant as the 1st and is now intermittent but still no video.

Your helpful suggestions are much appreciated before I am forced to return product for refund! Cheers!

The software in this forum has not been out in years, EVD 3 being current.

You can take it back or if you want to pursue it we would need to see a screen cap of your Device Manager - posting info HERE

What we are looking for are entries like these:

Wrong - software not properly installed:

Correct Entries:

If there is no reference in Device Manager you plugged in the device and let Windows wreck it!

Do the repair Step by Step, skip nothing, add nothing:

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Unplug your Roxio Capture Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where
Repair
is offered, choose that!

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

Ok. Tried as outlined exactly and another failed result (no video). There was no offer of an update through the process and only repaired the software as recommended. Are there any other thoughts? I'm about to bail on this and return for refund...Thanks!
