No Preview.

Bought from walmart.com and just got it today and been messing with it for hours looked at tons of forum post and everything but to no fix for my problem..

 

So im trying to capture my PS4 so i can live stream past the PS4's built in one. I have turned off HDCP in PS4 settings and i see the game on my TV and on my roxio i do not recieve a video preview.. i recieve sound from my ps4 but also with a small buzzing noise through the roxio program.. (in picture it is muted because i got sick of hearing it haha)

 

My connections are correct, i went into device manager and could only find 1 roxio gamecap instead of 2 like other forum post have said. I installed without connecting the Capture card to the computer until the install was completed and yea..

 

Please help.

Just note that your 'solution' must be only applicable to Some cases...

 

Unless you left something out, neither my Win7 or Win8 even have that option :huh:

Yes i clearly stated my computer has 2 graphics processor and I'm on Windows 8 so it will only WORK for some solutions :D never stated it works for everyone with all problems.

so ive figured out it is a software issue with my main/powerful laptop.. i hooked it up to my weaker laptop installed it and worked instantly,, no problems ran flawlessly, so ive decided to Buy an Xsplit license and bypass the software for my main PC and run through Xsplit.. still some issues but the main reason i bought this card was to live stream and it works greatly through Xsplit.. just wish the software worked better on my main PC.

 

So i can confirm the card works okay just the software crashes ALOT and freezes constantly and when it isnt freezing and crashing i get no preview (as the screenshot shows) ive tried a BD player through HDMI and also tried my PS3 through component and the problem persist (both crashing and no preview) I have uninstalled the software and the driver over 3 times and turning off firewall and virus protection while installing still doesnt work and constantly freezes and crashes. everything that is NORMALLY suggested in these threads i have done and and still no success. I am able to use the card by bypassing the software with xsplit BUT i still need to use the program to switch between component and HDMI which would make my life easier then constantly loading crashing software and praying for a non frozen program haha.

 

So another weird thing about this the program loads perfectly fine when the RGC isnt plugged into my laptop.. soon as i plug it in it freezes and crashes the program.

I haven't tweaked any settings.. I'm still hoping to resolve this issue so any advice would be nice. i got xsplit so i can stream to the extent i wanted to in the first place but i still cant use the program to switch the inputs so any help or advice to not make it crash or freeze constantly? im running windows 8.1 w/e most recent update for it is and also all drivers are up to date..

So i have a gaming laptop which has a integrated graphics card AND a Nvidia GTX 860M. You guys should remember this to give members more help then the basic run around stuff (no offense but i have never received ANY USEFUL info from your support and that is really sad it's like calling dell technical support and have some foreign guy yell at you to make sure your computer is plugged in and the screen is on)

 

To make the preview show and the software to not constantly crash (in my case which looking on this forum and google searching, I have found several people with my same problem which you guys could neither fix or stop being condescending towards them after telling you multiple times what you were telling them wasn't working)

 

(Done on Windows 8 cant guarantee same results on any other windows)

 

1. go to C: > Program files (or program files x86 for 64bit users) > Roxio Game Capture HD PRO > Media Import

2. Right click on the program MediaCaptureGame1X

3. On the Menu List when right clicking select Run with Graphics Processor > Integrated Graphics

4. Launch said program and it should launch with no lagging, freezing or crashing and the preview should show and be able to finally use your product.

 

Hope this works for people who have similar issues!

Hey Dart, glad you are good to go now, but this forum is not tech support, and the folks here, who you dissed, are not Roxio folks. They really don't need to give you any help.
