Creator Nxt Pro V/s Crreator Nxt 3

ddh

Question

I have Creator NXT Pro installed on my computer and I just purchased Creator NXT 3

Will the "dmsd" files that I have created and are on my computer be effected if I install

Creator NXT3.

Is Creator NXT3 much better then Creator NXT PRO??

Should I just Leave Creator NXT PRO on and not install Creator NXT3??

Sknis & Myguggi - Is there enough difference between Creator NXR PRO and Creator NXT PRO 3

to spend $129.99 On 9-14-2011 I bought Creator 2012 for $99.99, then on 12-17- 2012 I bought Creator NXT PRO which is installed on now on my computer.

I saw no difference between the Creator 2012 and NXT PRO. That is why I ask the question is there enough difference between Creator NXR PRO and Creator NXT PRO 3 to spend $129.99.

I use the Creator to create DVD's and the Copy disc function for the disc's I have created. Since there is no detailed manual to read about I have no idea if there is anything else to do or if I am to be making a DVD different or more that I can do different.

I have installed Creator NXT PRO "Installation Disc i & 2 but I don't remember doing it, I did not install the "paintshop Pro X4 that came with the NXT PRO because I have never used Paintshop and there were no instructions on what or how to use it , When I bring up the menu it says "Roxio Creator NXT PRO" so I do have it installed and I am using it.

I feel like I have brought a "Lamborghni" and there were no instruction on how to drive it or maintain it, so I drive it by trail and error and is it very difficult to own. I like it but it is a love/hate relationship. When it works it is wonderful but when i have a problem with no way to figure out what the problem is or how to fix it. So that is my Roxio usage story.

I thought we had already answered that. How much clearer do you want us to be? NO Don't spend the money ! Keep your wallet in your slacks, etc.

Actually your first problem is upgrading from Creator 2012. That was the best one before Corel decided to slice and chop the program into little pieces.. The changes made in the program apparently didn't affect any parts of the program you were using. The only reason to upgrade was because a change in your Operating System,

Tell me if you looked at the tutorials and guides I linked to? Have you watched all of the videos/pdf in the Learning Center- lat tab down on the main page.

Even Books for Dummies doesn't have a good one. It is out of date.

Remember everyone here and thousands more who don;t come here learned by using the resources or by trial and error.

I 'm guessing that you just has a general bitch about Roxio so you've done that. I'm basing it on the fact that you still have not been specific on any issues that you have. If you do come up with a problem, come back here and we'll try to help. We are more responsive that any book!

I think this thread has reached its end and will be closed. Please start a new one in the appropriate part of the forum. Don't add to someone else's thread. Be specific and leave out the History. Hev as good a retirement as you can with your significant others. Lighten up. :)

Your choice but do you use the extras that come with the PRO version? You might lose something you like.

Why did you upgrade to NXT3; you must have a reason to select to upgrade. Was there a specific application or function in NXT3 that you wanted? Why didn't you go to NXT 3 PRO?

Digital Guru - Roxio was nice enough to take back the Creator NXT3.

So now my question is, should I upgrade from Creator NXT Pro and

if so what should it be?

If I upgrade would I mess up the old files I have created on Creator NXT Pro??

Would there be enough new things in Creator NXT Pro3 for $129.99??

I could not find the instructions on what to do, and with out instructions I am afraid of messing

something up in the computer (I am a old man 72, and I need help and Roxio is not great about helping)

I have these three discs on Creator Nxt Pro and I am not sure but I think all I ever loaded in was one>

I would appreciate any and all help you would be willing to assist me with.

Thank you very much.

Old man of 72? I'm insulted ! :o

Why didn't you install the other discs? They are extra transitions, menus, etc. On one of the discs; on the other are music files, music tools, image tools, etc.Disc 3 has Smart Sound (audio tools for you projects). Izotope Music and Speech Cleaner (for cleaning up those video you recorded that had background noise), Unified HDR Express (for making those photos pop). I didn't like Paint Shop Pro (I have two other image editors) but it is a good image editor if you don't have one.

Don't upgrade. There is an old saying - if it isn't broke, don't fix it and there is a corollary never throw new software at at an old problem.

At this point, if you do not have a problem, look at the tools available from other vendors if you really want something new.

Unfortunately, you are not saying why you want to upgrade. Do you have money in your pocket to burn (or throw away)? What tools are you missing? For instance, I have a DVD player program other than Roxio/Corel that I like, I have a video editing program to reduce jitter/rotation/lens aberrations that is a stand alone program. I have a program that creates maps of vacation travels to add into my travel videos.

What do you need?

Remember to turn off your antivirus and other running programs when you install the other discs with NXT Pro.

Digital Guru - No I thought that Creator NXT3 might be better and easier to work with. I wished I had money but we live on a fixed income.

The company I worked for 30 years went bankrupt and I lost my insurance and pension (but so did thousands of others).

If I re installed the two discs (not the Paintshop Pro X4) would this effect anything that I have already created on the NXT3??

I agree about if it is not broken don't fix it, but if it runs like a cranky old car then should you get a new one?

All I do with the creator is put photo's & videos from our video camera and I will add music to the photos.

I don't know what else I can do with it? Is there a GOOD instruction manual somewhere?

Thank you for your help.

No there is NO good instruction manual ! Here is the users guide., check out YOUTube for tutorials, look at karri's videos (very good), My Moments (dated), and even a couple of mine.- (let us know what you want to learn about).

Since you didn't have it very long, how many projects are you talking about. I have not tried to open NXT3 projects in NXT. In other similar circumstances, the project would open ONCE. Then the person would have to save the project under a new name in order to open it again. You got your money back for NXT 3; be happy. You probably have some time to work with those projects or start from scratch unlees you have a deadline that you didn't tell us about.

Look back through the posts in this thread and see if you ever told us about any problems or issues. You seem to mention issues but nowhere do you give any specifics. You haven't even told us about your computer (dxdiag).

I don't remember that you did. How familiar are you with computers? Have you cleaned and defragged your hard drive Unless it is a SSD? Have you gotten rid of trial programs and programs you no longer use (Hint: Revo Uninstaller in the MODERATE Mode).?

If you have the discs, do a repair on NXT Pro. It would not change anything in those projects. By the way, how did you get rid of NXT 3 (see hint above but download the trial of the Revo Professional program to get rid of partially installed/uninstalled programs via search).

Anoither HINT; that cranky old car may just need spark plugs, oil change, and a good cleaning ! :P

The Creator NXT3 (I had a disc) I broke the disc into a lot of small pieces and put in in the trash.

I am very very happy that I got my money back ($53.49 of $61.46 paid).

I have created 50 or more DVD's on the NXT Pro.

I run a scan disc every Friday, Program backup every Saturday, All Systems backup every Sunday.

I have a defrag program running in the background all the time.

Issues - If I don't save after I do each step it will crash in the middle of my work, I get errors that give me a code with no

explanation. Trail and error has taught me a lot (I have had Roxio since 2011)

The last error I had was inserting titles on photo's, it does not like very many titles on a lot of photo's, it would not burn.

I had menu titles to close together, all it said was that I had a error, by trial and error I learned that was the problem.

I also learned that the disc size must be set the the largest setting or it will not burn.

This should give you a little more insight.

Thanks for your insight and knowledge.

What two discs are you talking about? The ones for NXT or NXT 3? The ones from NXT 3 will not install into NXT if you were thinking of doing that

Anything your created with NXT 3 will most likely not work with NXT.

The only error problem that makes any sense is the one regarding menu titles too close to each other which of course cannot be allowed.

I don't understand what you mean by the other two problems you mention.

Sknis & Myguggi - Thank you for your reply and help.

The disc that I tore up was the Creator NXT3 that was sent to me and they refunded the money to me, I NEVER installed it on the computer, because I was asking the question if the files I had created would be harmed, I received no answer from Roxio so in error (Stupid) I bought it anyway.

The two disc I refereed to were Creator NXT Pro Installation Disc 1 & 2.

The error that I have a lot is that the Roxio will just quit working and everything I have created will will be lost.

The other error I referred to was on photo's you can add a title to the photo that will be displayed when the dvd

is played.

The title error when it happened was not explained, it just said I had a error, I found out what it might be by Google

search.

So I am happy that I did not install the NXT3.

Thank you for your insight and help.

Digital Guru- Thank you for your reply. I did not know how to use the extras or what they were used for on my Creator NXT Pro.

I upgraded to NXT3 because they kept sending me e-mails and being stupid I thought that it is better because they knew I bought the Pro so this must be better. I will return it. All I have done is just install the normal usage program (Disc 1 & 2), I did not know what to do or how to use the Paint shop Pro X4. I bought the Pro on Dec 2012 and it has been trial and error working with it. When it works it is wonderful but when you have a error, it will tell you have a error and a error code but not what the error is or how to fix it. I have a love / hate relationship with Roxio.

Thank you for your help.
